>why would silver be special in having its price depressed like this?
Silver and gold hold to a generally semi-elastic ratio. Control the (much smaller) silver market and you control the gold market.

>Why wouldn't the price of other commodities be depressed too
They are. See: Oil. Silver and Gold are money though, with silver being an overleveraged, oversold, weak point in the financial system. See:Hunt Brothers, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan backed by the government to control the silver price. Those fines against JPM were paid right back to the government. Wash.

>why?
Keeping the fiat ponzi scheme going for as long as possible for the western bankers. The western central banks have been exporting fiat dollars in exchange for real goods and materials since the end of WW2. In order for their financial hegemony to continue they must continue to rig the playing field.

Not always, but at least sometimes if you're random about it and pretty much all the time if you use your brain a tiny bit and don't just buy a macro top like a retard. Whereas silver never ever ever "works out" no matter how much you hope.

If you're stacking silver you're choosing failure outright, instead of having a pretty good chance of Making It.

It is meaningless in terms of supply and demand on the market. But it reflects a growing concern in Western power centers over the move towards remonetization of gold. Tired of hearing this retarded shit. Buying silver makes you rich instantly. You are trading worthless paper for something with actual intrinsic value. And the amount of time required to earn silver right now is incredibly low considering how rare and useful it is. I dont give a fuck if silver went to 1000 an ounce I wouldnt sell. Its not a store of value its converting something with no value (dollars) to something with incredible value (silver).

If you're collecting rather than stacking, sure. Many here do a mix of both and the ideas can meld together, but if you're going for value (stacking), your own preference for looks don't come into play, only cost per ounce after tax. You can play premiums on some pieces, though.

Brainlet here. I might accidentally have blackpilled myself about gold and silver.
QRD of /pmg/ thesis from what i understood :
>limited amount of physical gold availible
>joos are printing infinite paper gold IOUs and derivatives with no collateral
>they dump it onto the markets to not only make easy money, but also suppress the price of PMs in the process
>by suppressing the price, it makes fiat money looks like it's performing better than gold, thus preventing cash fleeing toward gold
>vital for the system to save face by making no others assets perform better than the fiat scam
>fiat toilet paper status : temporarily saved even during a recession/almost hyperinflation
until then i get it, it make sense.

What i don't get is what comes after. /pmg/ pretend the game of musical chairs will eventually stop and everybody will want to redeem there fake ass paper gold for the real deal. But from what we've seen so far, things more like happened as follow :
>economic situation getting really dire
>big owners of the fake paper gold are institutional investors
>they liquidate their paper gold for cash in order to close others trades and deleverage others positions deemed too risky
>fake gold either going back into the system to be sold again or getting "destroyed"
>no physical gold involved ever
>price keep dumping, no matter if institutions are buying or selling
What would incentivize such investors with big """gold""" folio (hedgies, pension funds, even states...) to ever ask for the real deal? It seems they are infinitely stuck in a loop of fake digital gold and don't have the envy nor the need to redeem for the real stuff.

How do this get solved? It's like the jews invented a close loop of fake gold x100 time bigger than the real gold market, and nobody but smol fishes like us are interested at unveiling the dirt under the rug...

I don't think the tie between gold and silver is what others make of it. Silver is primarily an industrial metal (and a good one) while gold is a jewelry and monetary metal. The demand structures are very different. If gold and silver are both remonetized, then yes they will be linked. But I don't see that is the most likely scenario.

I think gold watches are a simple pleasure in life and new ones are just too expensive for me to even contemplate. 20k for a gold watch if the scrap value is 15k isn't bad IMO since you get a beautiful piece of watch making history that is enjoyable to wear.

It has been point out that silver is the inferior metal to invest in with many of us showing the data over decades of this inferiority, but silver stackers just rage thinking that we're Jewish even though we are stacking ourselves to get our money out of fiat bullshit. Instead of using bullshit arguments like this, why don't you actually address the argument about why stacking silver is bad with the gold silver ratio.

I can see why they might move together when people are fleeing paper investments and seeking stability, but once the panic is over and prices are set by supply and demand, why would they couple at any particular ratio?

A common historical ratio might be one of several decent indicators of things to come, but I think people who treat it as in some way inevitable are making assumptions not supported by the evidence. >once again bringing up your dead desert religion in a thread about precious metals
Forgetting you started it first in the last thread?
>church burned thousands of holy books and pagan writings
Let me guess, le ebin library of Alexandria? The one that was declining ever since Ptolemy VII purged many intellectuals, that was burned by Caesar, to be finally destroyed in a Roman counter attack on the Palmyrene invaders in AD 270, with the only structure left being the Serapeum which by the time of AD 391, housed no books.
>here are the pagans of ancient greece such as Aristotle and Plato
And the Christian Roman Greeks had preserved their texts for thousands of years, and deemed their value as great enough to be put on a ship for Italy to avoid destruction by invading forces.
>Ive never heard anyone make this claim. The Romans were so based that they were literally genociding jews
I’m sorry, but are you retarded? Hadrian literally killed a bunch then expelled the rest into Europe and North Africa. Le ebin based Romans hoped to assimilate them by removing them from their homeland.
>They would even ENFORCE their culture on the peoples they conquered, which is the opposite of assimilation.
Nigger that is exactly what assimilation was. Average Roman in AD 100 couldn’t trace their heritage back to the Latins. Only a few noble families could do that. Roman culture destroys every other culture it comes in contact with. The Gauls, 100 years after Caesar’s conquest, we’re now considered Romans. Same with the Britons, the Iberians, Carthaginians, Egyptians, Greeks, (although Roman elites did so love them) the Anatolians, etc. Roman men married local women and within a few generations, they were Roman. This is assimilation.
>Isn't that exactly what christians did?
Its what Spaniards and the French did. No so much Christianity as it was them not bringing their own women with them, unlike the British. Nevertheless the Romans wouldn’t have strived much better.

$50 is a lot of money when you're paying off $30k worth of emergency medical bills, my asshole. Not all of us make figures. Need I remind you the $8 shipping for a single coin is not worth it.

Silver eagles are nice but overpriced imo. I like dimes because for the price you actually get a little more and in smaller units. Even new production fractionals are more expensive than dimes comparatively. Paying more than 30 an oz for a not really rare/special round doesnt really make sense.
Get the special ones first, then dimes, then SOME ammo. Unless all out war breaks out then you will probably be fine with just a few hundred rounds.

I just order the same thing, a tube of maples and a 10 guilder coin.
That was the best deal on BE's site for both gold and silver, kino silver coins anyway.
Couldn't go with the gay phillies when maples were on fire sale.

If something is cheap and tends to stay cheap then people are less likely to FOMO into it. But the second word gets out that the price is going up then its like blood in the water and all the sharks come bolting out of nowhere to gobble it up and pump the price even higher.
Do keep in mind that the entire economy is a very fine balancing act, too much weight in one direction or the other and pieces start to fall off and people lose their minds. Look what a fucking boat did in just ONE bottleneck a couple years ago, supply line issues still reverberating from that. All the shit that needs silver to produce would follow suit in price, which means less buying, less production. The powers that be cant tolerate that.
Its all for a good reason.

Just a question I was having in my mind as of the past few seconds
What would be the lowest denomination or even lowest weight of coin and purity would you anons accept as payment for something in the event of an economy recession, collapse, or downturn?
I'll start, 1 cent penny coins of at least 90% pure copper for my lowest limit, and I would accept any silver coin of at least 40% silver like some kennedy's but won't go lower than 40% silver personally desu

I'd take absolutely anything including literal crackhead scrap metal if the person didn't have any PMs but possessed enough base metals to be worth the trade. I like stacking lead ingots for example, plenty of that metal in car batteries people could collect and melt down for me.

I only thought about nickels after posting my post, and would probably only accept us war nickels after verifying them for my only exception
foreign coins lower than 40% would be a no go for me though since I am unfamiliar with most foreign coins of like 10% or 20% silver or whatnot

Last I checked though paganism along with other smaller non-Abrahamic religions are on the rise this century
paganism along has like 1 or 2 million world members
I also remember hearing that some are trying to revive the Hellenistic religion of the Greek gods of Greece, already having some 3 thousand members in Greece who openly worship Zeus and Athena or others or something

No, it was a general policy when "converting" new provinces to outright ban and destroy "heretical" books.
>the Christian Roman Greeks had preserved pagan texts for thousands of years, and deemed their value as great enough to be put on a ship for Italy to avoid destruction by invading forces
Mind telling me what you're referring to here? It sounds like you're talking about a specific event, but if youre not then this is just retarded ramblings.
>Hadrian literally killed a bunch then expelled the rest into Europe and North Africa
After massacring over 50 jewish settlements, he banished any remaining jews from Jerusalem and sold the remainder to Egypt as slaves. That's not exactly "expelling them to Europe".
>Nigger that is exactly what assimilation was.
No, retard. Enforcing your culture on other people is not assimilating their culture into yours. It's literally exterminating their culture.
>The Gauls, 100 years after Caesar’s conquest, were now considered Romans
>Same with the Britons, the Iberians, etc.
No, they werent. They were subjects of the roman emperor, but they didnt have citizenship and werent considered Roman.
>Its what Spaniards and the French
>Not so much Christianity
Ah, so when the pagan Romans do something cringe, it's because of paganism. But when the christian Spaniards do something cringe, it's because theyre Spaniards. Nice double standard you've set up there.

>Mind telling me what you're referring to here? It sounds like you're talking about a specific event, but if youre not then this is just retarded ramblings.
The fall of the Eastern Roman Empire. The Fall of Constantinople is one very well documented example. The Romans we’re about to evacuate much ancient text and artworks with the help of Venetian vessels. These works arrived in Italy and spread throughout the west, sparking the renaissance.
>sold the remainder to Egypt as slaves.
In Egypt were the nearest major ports. They were sold as slaves and then sold again and sent all around the Empire. Others were simply expelled. If you honestly think kikes ending up in Europe is the fault of Christianity, despite the Medieval church persecuting them and forcing them to live in ghettos under protection of kings who’d inevitably expel them themselves and ban them from returning, your an idiot.
>Enforcing your culture on other people is not assimilating
This is exactly what forced assimilation is. Read a dictionary.
>They were subjects of the roman emperor, but they didnt have citizenship and werent considered Roman.
Caesar gave citizenship to Cisalpine Gauls and appointed them to the Senate.
> But when the christian Spaniards do something cringe, it's because theyre Spaniards.
Spaniards are undoubtedly retarded and only practiced what they learned from Roman tradition. They did the same thing to kikes and muslims too. Just as the Romans did and would’ve done. The Roman in Roman Catholic isn’t just the location of the church, but rather many traditions going back to ancient Rome.
>A baseless assertion.
Romans bred with every group they conquered bar none. They even had relations with nubians. Romans had no concept of race. Their goals in Europe was the closest Europe ever got to pan Europeanism.
