G7 officially sanctions Russian gold. Biggest importer of Russian gold is the LBMA which is THE pm market. So yea...very bullish for gold price, miners, fx of gold producing countries(Australia). Potentially bad for Russia as it is 6% of it's exports. I imagine they will discount their gold and sell to BRICS nations. DISCUSS.

Russia doesn't need to import gold. If anything they should buy the gold they would normally export with government rubles to reduce deflation.

>> No.49987900

doesn't russia now have to sell below spot to developing countries

This means gold will crash bellow $1000/oz. Don't forget recent discovery of 31 million ounces in Uganda and the fact that gold price is currently in a bubble which is unsustainable.

how much per ounce is it going to cost to dig that gold up?

>gold price is currently in a bubble
it is only slightly more expensive than it was ten years ago. if that is a bubble, what the hell is everything else?

no, it just means the russians will take their gold in the middle of the ocean, put it on another countries ship, and sell it through that. just like they do with their oil. yawn.

Its 31 million tons of gold ORE you retard. With 10-11 grams of pure gold per tone, do the math. Its barely 300 something tons of gold. YAWN.

I hate you 31 million Uganda ounces faggots so incredibly much. The value the ugandans calculated was 10 kg of pure fucking gold per tonne. That is a ridiculous 1%. Which makes you at least as dumb as a central african 90 IQ retard. Congratulations.
>but I was only pretending
No, you were not.

This is fucking nothing. I guarantee you it's a concession the US got to save face after petitioning, and failing, to get the other G7 nations to hop on board their full on Russia sanctions. Germany isn't having that. Germany needs their gas and oil.
After failing to get full sanctions, US probably asked for banning of imports. As you all know, Russia saved the Ruble after the US kicked them out of swift by pegging it to gold and oil. You can buy oil with gold, or rubles, therefore rubles are worth the same amount of equivalent gold. Bam.
So US says, oh gee well um, if you guys won't agree to the sanctions, how about banning gold payments to Russia (to mess with their peg scheme) and germany (and others) go back with a hard fucking no. US looking weak here. Needs to come back with something.
Germany probably goes "We'd accept a ban on exports" and the US jumps at it for face saving. Literally effects nothing. Russia isn't "funding it's war" by exporting gold to Japan and Canada as Joe tweeted out.
There. Now you're all up to speed.

You're just telling shit I know already. Saying is nothing is kind of out of touch, though. Demand for gold isn't inelastic like oil but the climate couldn't any bullish. As a matter of fact, Switzerland started buying Russian gold just a few days ago after being a net seller for years.

https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/swiss-customs-tracks-importation-russian-gold-worth-200m-85629217

To say this doesn't have implications for the gold price in the near future is asinine.

LOL they flew a helicopter over some desert and inferred from aerial data that there may be that much gold there. you can use your big brain to start finding ways to see why that is complete bullshit
