Let's say I want to make a silver coin of the highest quality. Are there premium mints that accept orders from "literally whos"?
For example, I have found the Perth Mint, but they emphasize in their brochure that they are aiming at corporate clients.

Silver ends your wallet.

if you mean that they placed it on the machine and it got a reading then yeah, it did lmao
XRF machines can penetrate light plating only and won't notice a common metal insert/core. If you wanna test a bar without drilling you need to use an ultrasound probe.
For testing rounds tho, if you aren't using calipers, a $10 pocket scale and a $0.1 magnet you're literally griefing yourself.

whats up pan man, san diego anon here you helped out a few times over the last 2 years. I still never had any luck with waterways or desert detecting, and dont have the space for a drywasher, but metal detecting the beaches, parks have been a gold mine. Not literally yet but I have found multiple 925 pieces already and the treasure hunt is much faster paced than processing a literal ton of earth. Almost daily I see another detectorist pull gold out of the areas I work so it's just a matter of time. The finds so far nearly pay for gas, better than the single numbers of flypoop I was finding before. I do still want to drywash and will probably try to go with a group eventually. What I would be really interested in, but never heard of, is a more formalized mining operation that I could work full days at on weekends occasionally and paid in ore. Probably too many liabilities but would be cool.

Poland sadly missed out on the best years for coin minting, they managed to squeeze out some Jadwigas and Pilsudskis between wars and after WW2 the commies cucked the eagle by removing the crown.

The symbol for palladum is Pd, not PD. So this marking is ambiguous - was the maker unaware, didn't care, or didn't have a lower case stamp available? Or maybe someone's personalized initials? If you have an accurate scale, you can get its density to get another point of info. Pic related.

I wish I lived in a comfy house in the woods or a small and charming European-like town. It would be neat if such places used silver and gold as exchange currencies. Sadly, I don't believe such existences are real anymore. It seems like the talons of demons are destroying any semblance of a wholesome and safe existence anywhere in the world. Everything is cheap and mass produced. I think PMs resonate with me, in part, because they are timeless and pure in our otherwise disposable and multiculti world.

Anyways, I think I've narrowed down my preferred coins to Britannias. After dabbling in a bit of everything, the Britannia has stood out as my favorite due to the following:
>lowest premiums
>highest security features
>obverse has the best composition
>obverse is choke full of iconography

Is there a reason not to invest in something like PSLV from a non-"shit hits the fan" scenario?

I am interested in Silver, have given it as gifts, think the bars and rounds are neat, etc., in a perfect world I'd love to buy a few heavy bars and store them long term.

But the practical/logical side of me resists the idea of physical metal storage. From the risk of theft, to finding an adequate hiding spot/possibly buying a safe. Not to mention the premiums paid (which can be lessened by buying larger bars, but the premium remains).

Also difficult in moving a significant quantity if I were to relocate. The rounds/coins are also subject to various types of deterioration (such as the "milk spots" on Maples for example, possibly affecting re-sale value). So in handling them you'd have to take care to wear gloves/again find an adequate controlled storage spot.

And how about fakes too? Easy enough to avoid by going through "authorized dealers", but if you were to go the extreme value route of places like r/pmsforsale or even an LCS you open yourself up to possible counterfeits. Even something like a Sigma Verifier isn't foolproof. Yes more expensive machines exist but it's just another variable you have to consider.

So for those reasons above you see how something like PSLV would be attractive. I would gain "exposure" to gains in spot price if that were to ever happen.

I've searched the subject on Reddit and of course there are theories on there about the Canadian Gov. for example possessing the silver stored in the vaults, or other more extreme scenarios but what if I don't believe this is likely?

To me it seems if Silver ever popped to the extreme upside (like people speculating about $100, $500 an oz and so on), that would reflect in the spot price and my shares in PSLV would bring me a lot of profit without ever going through the hassle or risk of actually storing the metal.

bouncing around the idea of buying a double sovereign, i usually buy 2x a year. Found one for $959, i just like to collect 2x of them for funsies every year. I have about 8k in cash i could spend on stuff, but don't want to spend very much, as 8k is really not that much cash in the grand scheme of things. Would maybe buy 2x of the regular sovereigns later, 2022s are a special version after all, and I would want to add to the collection. I really want a tube of silver krugs also, but the premiums are high on silver rn, so im hesitant to buy much in the last year or so. In other news, ive seen that the banks are "net long" silver right now, and the spot has dipped in the last few weeks, so maybe its time to dip my toe back in the waters. Also, the US mint is saying theyre not making any more gold buffs and eagles after this run is over for the year. They have a new female bureaucrat director, so expect more chaos and fuckups in the future. So far Ive bought 3 oz of gold this year, i think i should get to at least 4, 4.5 or so, which would be about 10% of my net income for the year. im currently at 17/525 for my stack.

>Is there a reason not to invest in something like PSLV from a non-"shit hits the fan" scenario?
if silver has a major moon event it'll most likely mean that paper contracts do not have enough backing to meet the demand, and will consequently become worthless while physical enjoys all the gains. Boomer rocks have limited value. Their price will appreciate roughly 2x at most, and this is if your prepper cope fantasy comes true.

Their value is in humanity’s tribal hoarder instinct. Collect the shiny - oooh it feels so good.

Meanwhile you could pick a crypto at random during the bear market and it will multiply 5x minimum within 3 years.

This is NOT financial advice, you are being bullied for collecting boomer rocks

buy only 1oz or larger gold pieces, and the larger eg kilo or even 10oz bars of silver. Keep in mind, on some pieces, you will get back a higher percentage of the premium you paid for it. For instance, you will get back a higher premium on buffs or eagles than you would say a Britannia here in the US. For silver, i would concentrate on generic weight first before i worried about collecting govt minted bullion. check out https://www.jmbullion.com/my-account/buyback-products/ for some of the buyback premiums you shoud look to expect

Still, Graded Bullion Coins are stupid because 100% of the coins are already in high mint state and almost none have been melted, with older coins like Morgans you have a relatively small population of surviving High Grade Coins (90% of Morgan Dollars have been melted down over the years) and the fact that no Morgan is in perfect shape due to how the mint handled them (they were tossed into $1000 bags straight out of the mint).

I think I'll liberate the 2 Francs, but I almost want to leave it in there because of how strange it is for such a common coin to be flipped up.
>I could respect the decision to keep the polish coin protected as it's uncirculated.
Aren't all 200 Zlotych Uncirculated, I thought they were just commemoratives that were sold to collectors?

depends on your location desu
if you live in a state like Wyoming and already own a fair piece of land to farm off of and are friendly with your neighbors and community, a fair stack of about 300 toz silver and 40 toz gold should be sizeable for a family of four, give or take
if you live in a war torn area like Yemen or Ukraine, whatever stack you may or may not have is gonna get taken after you body is thrown in a ditch and they ransack your house to see if you had any valuables, though this is unlikely for most people
I'd say if you live in an urban area try and move to a more secluded or rural area if you can, but if you have to stay, might need to increase your stack to something more like 1000 toz silver and 100 toz gold, but hide separate portions in separate locations so you don't have everything hidden in the same place
Really though it depends on your situation and how much you think you need
If you'd ask me for bare bare minimum, at the very very least, 1 troy ounce gold, 10 troy ounce silver, per person, as soon as you can afford, then move up to another decent minimum of 40 troy ounces silver and 5 troy ounces gold per person, so for a family of 4, 160 silver and 20 gold

PSLV is another form of paper silver, like SLV.
They are not draining the comex of silver, they keep buying it from the market, they aren't touching the comex.
They are controlled opposition, they might even provide silver bars behind the scenes to SLV.
The whole idea behind the PHYSICAL silver squeeze is to get all the PHYSICAL metal out there, buying a paper asset won't help in doing that.
For the squeeze to happen you have to avoid any paper silver out there.
If you're buying paper silver for the moon launch, you might as well put your currency into bitcoin/stocks/bonds.
When a physical shortage happens, your paper goes to 0, it won't go up.

If we weren't dealing with minimums, I would recommend an average of 690 lbs of silver, and 110 lbs of gold

if you want a stack that you'd be able to carry around i'd figure
for pockets: ~20 ounces silver, 4 ounces gold, 10 and 2 each pocket
if you have a backpack I'd say max 30 lbs of silver, 2 lbs of gold, but if you are carrying other stuff like food and water, lower to 15 lbs of silver, 0.5 lbs of gold and you should be decent carry

If you really think that you're a tourist. It's not popular as an investment metal but plenty of anons in here have some and it gets mentioned regularly, yet few people care to focus on it. Historically it's not that significant, and no nations have used it as a currency standard. It's too rare compared to gold, silver, and copper in that regard but scarcity alone doesn't imbue value. It used to simply be a byproduct of mining desirable metals, seen as an impurity in gold, until it was properly identified and made usable. Now it has industrial applications but those come with health risks enough to warrant exposure limits. That's bad juju compared to the magical properties of the big three. Pure platinum is inert but that's the result of very intense refinement. It feels like a modern manufactured commodity that certain people want to convince you is comparable to gold in value as a distraction, but maybe that's just my inner schizo typing. In a societal collapse scenario it would be hard to barter with due to being so uncommon. Too few people are familiar enough to know how to trust it when everyone else is using recognizable metals.
