1. Understand that these things don't happen instantly, and they require changes in how you live. Sometimes drastic, sometimes not.

3. You now only cook/prepare your meals unless it's a special occasion. If you still end up eating out more than once every 2 months, you are not following this.
4. Make a real budget and start living below your means. Make a sheet that accurately tracks your income vs expenses and be detailed enough to organize expenses into more than 3 categories. Be honest with yourself about what you don't need or could cut back on ESPECIALLY SUBSCRIPTIONS. Take a month to see how much money you managed to save and if everything went as calculated or if you need to readjust or develop more discipline.
5. Be open to opportunities. Side hustle potential is all around you, but they don't come to you. Maybe the town over is upscale - go to their thrift stores to seek out valuable items they donate. Buy on the cheap and upsell on eBay. Most hobbies are a skill - can you turn it into a service?
This goes for your regular job. When was the last time you redid your resume? Did you compare the words you used to describe yourself to the positions you'd want and how they describe who they're looking for? Did you ever pay $15 to get it optimized? How are you describing yourself - a cashier at a fast-food restaurant or a customer service representative in the food and beverage industry who has experience handling transactions and has excellent interpersonal communication skills? I do not care if you're not "looking" for a job - you are every day now and applying casually to 2-3 positions per week that have higher pay than yours. Do not be shy about it. Take any feedback they may give to keep refining your resume or consider free/cheap certifications for skills they stated you may have been lacking.
