imho I thing Sergey had the partnerships and connections nailed from the start. He did an ICO to throw a bone to the poorfags and give them a piece of the pie. Swift (or some of the big players we dont know of) REALLY didnt like that and told him to damage control. Banks are not allowed to participate in ICOs an must get away from them for legal reasons. The only chance for them to concede to the bigger players is ghosting us and tank the price by proxy.
Or perhaps this is all mental gymnastics and its a very ellaborate and long exit scam .
At this point all i can think of is that it may be a fail scam. Sergey somehows screws up the chainlink mainnet deployment and big players fade away.
i think they might do that on puprose and keep a functioning mainnet that only uses tokens sold behind doors to the big money.

Link price will tank but still be worth some because the use case is enormous but the serious moon mission would be lost by then.

That's exactly what it was. Now General Nazarov doesn't care about the price because he KNOWS that smart people, crypto enthusiasts etc will see the potential that CL has. He literally is shaking out dirty speculators right now so that only the real believers can profit from his project. He could do it all without all this ico drama but yet he decided to to go that path

I think you're spot on. If you listen to sergeys interviews he describes the processes various blockchain startups have moved from poc to full implementation and production in the third person without acknowledging that sounds exactly like chat chainlink and smartcontract are doing. All the clues feel like they are there, we just have to connect the dots and sergey seems to believe in spreading the wealth to the regular joes who otherwise can't get into early stage startups like this.

I don't really think there's any evidence chainlink is actually peeved about the ico, and frankly the ico was quite small. 90% was sold in the presale remember and that likely went to vc and big investors. But you're right he can't be seen shilling it and he also seems to be of the mind that hype is bad and he just needs to deliver, which is why we see him acting like he does.

idk once the mainnet goes live you're gonna see it be huge. it's such an easy plug and play solution. Swift had a successful poc so theres no reason to think they or someone else wouldn't be able to replicate that right off the bat.

He's creating a smart contract solutoin the same way linux is the server solution. It's the open source business infrastructure of the future and it has a very real chance of being huge.
