Not really. But every now and then a new CPU mineable coin comes out that you can make a ton of money off of (relative to mining XMR).

The problem is that the CPUs used to mine Monero are incredibly expensive but they barely mine anything per day.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid. I found some 60 core (Google specific processor) and 64 core Epyc Milan CPUs for $1200-$1500/was and a motherboard (bent pins on one socket) for $150 and it still doesn't make sense compared to GPUs. At least the depreciation on CPU builds is more normal though.
