Has the blockchain ever given you anything that brings joy? Every serious trader i’ve ever seen (plus this board plus subreddits about crypto/trading) all seem to connect cryptocurrency with stress, sadness, anger, regret, etc. very, very few are actually enthusiastic about anything related to it and yet keep investing into it.

I think that's an accurate assessment. I've made a lot of money in crypto and am still significantly up, but it might be one of the worst things that has ever happened to me, in terms of the lifestyle it's encouraged and the emotional/mental suffering it's caused. Yes, and actual dev, with blockchain specific skills. Not like your NFT flipper friends.

And let me tell you something - even in this bear market there is a huge surge of people that want to enter this space.
My company gets shitloads of CV's of people from all over the tech industry and outside with different set of skills that just want to tip their toes in crypto and get relevant experience.

From my point of view, crypto has given many people a very positive experience - just ask people who work in crypto.
In terms of coding and researching what's going on in DeFi - this industry has been the most positive experience i had, and it juat keeps growing.
