Albertan here who works in the oil patch. We are making record amounts of oil now. It's quite fascinating. I don't know much about where the oil goes ocne it's in the pipeline. Texas? Oklahoma. Not sure. But burgers are taking lots of it

You need a way to launder the oil.. No one is likely to buy it directly from you, but if you start an oil company, you can probably do it. But you shouldn't do that

What's the best way to make lots of money if I move from Ontario to Alberta. I'm currently working in IT, but I hate it, but a lot of my experience can be transferred to the electrician trade. Do trades pay decent out there in boom time? Or is just getting on a rig the best bet?

I'm fed up with Toronto ruining the rest of the province, and I want to work with the local political parties in Alberta to end the eastern occupation of the west.

I know an escort in Edmonton and one of her clients hires bottom feeder workers to work on the rigs for $29 an hour, for 84 hours per week (you get OT too obviously). There's probably listings on indeed or some other site, but once I get my bachelor's degree I'll probably work there for a 3 month stint just to pay off all my loans and get enough money to move abroad.

I am Albertan at heart. Fuck Ontario and everyone in it. All the cities in Ontario give the rest of the province a bad rap.

I propose after Alberta gains independence and joins with their western brothers, that a war of annihilation be commenced against Ontario. Toronto and Ottawa shall be wiped off the face of the earth, and the remaining Ontarians shall be enslaved by Alberta, and forced to work on the oil rigs. Other policies Alberta should implement is:
- mandatory firearm ownership (and it shall be a Capitol offence to not own one)
- deport all non-canadians (including the ones who were born here)
- nuclear rearmament
- annexation of the territories, and subsequent homesteading laws implemented.
- every citizen shall be entitled to a free oil pump to be worked on by Ontarians slaves .

Now let me in fuckers.

I honestly think Trudeau made some good moves to put Canada in a good position after the oil crisis with Russia and EU.

Not sure what this >>49903792 anon is talking about.

Trudeau has made moves that wouldn't make sense for a Liberal leader (like purchasing Trans Mountain). And NDP leader Singh has also made moves that don't make sense for what is supposed to be a further left party -- like how he supports the LNG pipeline in northern BC (largest private sector investment in canadian history).

These moves put Canada in a strong position to give gas and oil to the countries that need it across the pond. It's almost as if PMJT had some insider knowledge...?

Not sure to be honest. You see 15 years ago, Alberta was ramping up NEW oil wells. They aren't doing that now. The province as a whole is making good money. But there's less job creation once the wells are already operational..

When I started on the drilling rigs, you made 150k a year if you were willing to work your 12 hour shift. You didn't need any special training. Now the work is more sparse. Wages haven't really gone up. I doubt a floorhand makes much more now than I did 15 years ago. And they certainly won't work as long of hours.

No one likes him, I'm one of those hippies in BC.

But politics in Canada has been split into "left and right" like the states, and people on the right think that the Liberal party (with a capital L) means left wing or leftists or liberal ideologies. When in reality, the Liberal party is pretty much center, and the conservative party is pretty much center but a little to the right.

So Trudeau gets shit on be cons in Alberta because that's the thing to do, despite him actually passing policies and approving various energy projects that are helping Albertans and Canadians, at the expense of climate (believe it or not).

I did not vote for Trudeau, but I'm not blind to see that Canada is aligned well to export oil and gas and that the deals that trudeau has made has helped facilitate this. I mean, when in your wildest dreams would you expect a Liberal party leader to purchase an oil pipeline for $4billion tax payer dollars and help invest $50billion for a natural gas pipeline? Doesn't sound on brand for what "liberal" is supposed to mean, does it? And you sure as hell wouldn't have guessed that these were things that happened within the last decade with how much climate policy has ramped up over the world.

David Dodge talking about how gold is 'antique economic tool' and how it was intelligent for them to sell gold off at literally the fucking bottom of the gold market is hilarious in hindsight.
Those people need to be careful with the way they project influence over economic outcomes from here because hyperinflation doesn't usually make a population MORE calm lol.

walked off my job at that, no point of working for a coin one cannot spend. Imagine having savings plans in CAD if they don't call themselves out by Feb 23, 2023. Next politician just calls trucks in on themselves to play dictator.

CAD deserves to be gutter tier, how its not right now is a testament to the geopolitics of nuclear backed currency, and how detached it is from actually managing scarcity by providing pricing power
