DeWalt and Milwaukee impacts are like 99% basically the same shit. Same with rigid too fwiw (I've heard they're made in the same factories as Milwaukee). I used both regularly at my job and really don't notice a difference.

DeWalt hammer drills on the other hand burn out really quickly, I've probably burned out like half a dozen that come in the little 2 pack sets my company always buys for me. I also have a Bosch hammer drill like pic rel that is an absolute beast and has lasted for like 4 years. The batteries suck though

almost all of the shit is made in the same factories, they just colornthen differently
i bought dewalt because i already had access to some of them, and me bringing extra batteries/chargers along instantly made me more valuable. why would i deviate into another company and have to rebuy batteries and shit again? i coukd have just as easily ended up with milwaukee had i been given a few of them to start off with. it doesnt matter until you start apporaching serious tools that run thousands, air compressor jack hammers, table saws, concrete chain saws, demolition saws, rebar benders and hydraulic cutters. you geniunely want the best when it comes to tools like these, cheap thats $1000 dollars less with a shitty repair warranty/no balls behind them in use can be frustrating or even work against you if you have any sort of schedule to maintain. i know alot of people will go cheap and do harbor frieght for tools for a single job, but if you actually are a career tradesman, you will want reliable and powerful tools for daily use.
a good example is pic related
there are many options for a demo chainsaw. from 750 to 15,000. how often you need one will determine which you buy
these things are also a special project use typically for me when it would be easier to cut access/vents after the fact in poured walls

the rare occasion we have no jobsite power or something quick that doesnt warrant running a cord and shit i use mine, but i think its only seen action 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years. that was a pointless buy for me, but whatever. if i ever need it its always there and ready.

So? Have you ever been in a factory?
Your competitor can order identical parts and just specify different tolerances,
so he will literally get most of your rejected parts and save a lot of money.
Quality control devices which logo will get printed on the part.

Hilti is a ripoff. I've been using my boss's old Hilti kit for a few months before getting my own tools last week and I went with milwaukee because it was literally less than half the price. The impact driver, drill, recipro and grinder just absolutely shit on their hilti counterparts. The hammerdrill is alright, the hilti one is better.

again it all comes down to how often you use it and what sector of tool youre going to buy
i agree, corded is god. you cant beat a corded hilti chipping gun
the only other hilti product i trust is their ramshot for driving nails into concrete
as far as drills/drivers go its mil/dew hand tools estwing klein or rose
tapes are always stanley 25ft but i buy them by the 10's and have one 45 ft plus a wheel
i own probably 6 husq chainsaws and 2 demo saws and a concrete chain saw, husq always rubbed me right, stilh gave me problems with the gas cap and their repair program/warranty was garbage. the only time i had a problem with husqvarna i sent it back and they sent me a brand new 450 20" saw. ill admit it was my fault, i cut wrong into a nail embedded tree and it obliterated sonething inside the case when the shards chunked up the spool but it was first use and i had no idea assholes were nailing into the tree for 30 years for wash lines
it all comes down to preference use time and specialty.
ryobi will get you through most home orojects, bring that on a jobsite and expect to be laughed at
the worst thing for sure to buy off brand are ladders, kneeling boards, kneepads, and work boots
pic unrelated my local snakes
