So where on earth is security supposed to come from, if block rewards are disappearing as transactions are moved off-chain?

bitcoin shills real quiet since this thread dropped

>> No.49862006

they come from bch
*dabs*

>> No.49862169

it comes from the fact that bitcoin is the only scarce digital asset we're ever going to have
if nobody wants decentralized money, ever, then everything fails, no exceptions.
if they do, then block fees skyrocket despite individual fees collapsing due to settlement on bitcoin. again, if nobody wants to settle on bitcoin, then that spells disaster for everything in this space, not bitcoin. no exceptions.

So who's paying these fees then? Central banks or other large organizations?

imagine being this new.
Lightening transactions settle on the base layer (BTC). As >>49862169 mentions, by the time (2175AD) we need to worry about that, bitcoin will be the world treasury reserve and the transaction rate will be so that no one need be concerned. /thread ttyyl thanks for coming out
