don't be a bootcamp cuck, learn from YouTube, create a portfolio of projects you can demo, and start interviewing from there.

This but stay away from YouTube, learn to find shit yourself. Read documentations, search in GitHub, stackoverflow, etc. I know many retards that unless there's a video about it they can't do shit and they don't even understand what they are doing.

This is such bullshit. OP if you have a good background in math and a lot of discipline you can pull this off, otherwise it's doubtful a bootcamp will even help you. A bootcamp can help you with the discipline part but if your math is dogshit God help you

This is one of the problems I have with these threads. Can you define how "dogshit" your math would have to be for a bootcamp to be useless? I graduated with a liberal arts degree, so my math isn't amazing. I did get to pre calc in high school and passed a master's level stats course with some help. Some people say math is important. Others say they don't use it at all.

You have to know some math. Let's start here. What is a function? You can explain that, right?
You will more than likely have a technical part of the interview, knowing how to think mathematically is necessary to get through it.

> me
I used the free resources online and studied for 6 months when I was NEETing. Then did a bootcamp purely just to have a certificate to show that I can code.
Use the new skill and 8 years of project management skills in engineering to now do IT consultancy/product support.

i'm making $200k working from home doing jack shit now

i'd highly recommend CS50 if you want a structured course

Very good point.
I think YouTube is OK as long as you understand why you are doing certain things and not just blindly copying.
Learning to code itself is not hard but actually setting up development environments and navigating within them is a big component of the work along with problems solving.
You need to understand the concepts underlying so that you know what is the next step to take.
