DeFi is a daydream predicated on the naive belief that human beings aren't in fact, inately greedy, self-serving creatures, when history and simple observation would tell you we are.

DeFi as a concept won't even exist in 5 years, for the same reason everything eventually reverts to a central regulating authority. Fact is, we as people need protection from ourselves.

Basically Bancor is a decentralised platform anyone can deposit liquidity to.
In that sense, even a big faggot Cefi platform called Celcius can deposit massive funds and take part
Celsius did in fact do this.

Now Celcius is in trouble they decided they could make some money by exploiting the fact they still have a huge proportion of the liquidity on there and short BNT, then withdraw all their liquidity and dump the BNT they get to profit their shorts and destroy all confidence in the platform.
Bancor decided to at least try stop Celcius from making money if BNT is going to be sacrificed anyway.

So after looking at the wallets it's kind of crazy how large Bancor's liquidity was just Celsius.

From a game theory perspective, Celsius just has to eat the loss. They risk killing the protocol if they try to wait out for ILP to return. That being said Celsius' defi team is run by retards who will probably do just that.

Its quite quickly becoming obvious Celcius are running around every corner of crypto trying to set up jewish tricks to salvage money in desperation. They probably opened mega shorts on BTC before they even announced their forced hold policy. We exposed them in Chainlink over the past few days.

They are cooked. Even Bancor just disabled impermanent loss to fuck them. Other whales are increasingly noticing their trails everywhere imo. They are gonna get hunted and sucked dry of everything as they do increasingly risky bets. First with LINK which they quickly tried to hide and not BNT.

If they wait out the IMpL to be reinstated they’ll likely just get short squeezed on their BNT shorts. They are toast

As far as Im concerned, all Celsius did was try to get out of the pool, something perfectly within their rights
This gave the slimy little Bancor devs the perfect (and last) opportunity to trick the goyim: It is Celsius! They are shorting us! We have no proof but you can trust us! We have to protect you from this attack (???), we have no other option!

That's disingenuous, anon. Celsius allows for much more of an "insta-bank run" situation because they can pul lots of people's money en masse, but the reality is that the Bancor design simply couldn't handle large whales leaving the protocol and the attendant panic that would cause during peak bear fear.
And if your protocol can't handle that then honestly it can't make it. DeFi is darwinian as fuck and the shit that actually survives needs to survive through anything, at which point it will earn massive respect as being invincible. Bancor failed the test.

there would have been no functional difference

they are just kikes desperately trying to find something to blame to avoid the reality that their protocol failed organically

when did you get out of bancor lads?
i got out 4 weeks ago. saw some horrifying shit, basically gave up on it

as i was explaining my thoughts here, some bancor shill was desperately trying to convince me that i was being retarded, that the redflags that i perceived were nothing serious and that i was getting out of it shortly before it was about to take off
i really hope that guy loses everything. bancor shills have consistently proven themselves to be the most cancerous group of people festering this place

thank god i'm too dumb and risk averse to put anything in defi shit
what were the red flags you'd noticed though? I'd be curious to keep an eye out years from now (if defi ever actually recovers from shit similar to BNT changing their withdrawals, or shit like SOLEND literally outright hijacking user's funds)

the 7 day thing by itself screamed "ponzi". just getting money into the platform locked you for 7 days, you didn't even have to stake
they constantly advertised incoming "features" all throughout 2021, but never delivered on a single one of them. they were basically cultivating hype out of nothing. arbitrum ended up being an empty promise, v3 was delayed again and again all the way to after 2022

people started getting their stacks back in BNT (that was easily the worst one). as time went on, the percentage of BNT increased
v3 promised a myriad of improvements, including auto-coumpouding, 1-click migration of all positions and 50-100x reduction of trade fees. needless to say, it had none of those mechanics

basically if you ever see a team being "too active" on social media despite little to 0 progress, if you see notice debatable mechanics that inconvenience users and don't really make much sense economically (like "locked funds" periods) and if you notice active degradation of the mechanics, get out of there
and get the FUCK out of there if you notice APYs that feel "too good" or wording like "100% safe" or "guaranteed/risk-free"

defi in general, and especially bancor had absurd fees in 2021. sometimes you would have to pay 800$ for a mere deposit
bancor hyped implementing arbitrum to keep the users in, with the promise of 50x-100x lower fees
in reality they ended up never using it, presumably because by the time it became possible fees were already at an "acceptable" level and they figured that it wasn't worth the risk in case of a black swan event

how about you try again with a transaction hash you filthy jew?

and fyi, ive heard it. the guy didn't even directly call out celsius for the short (only for the withdrawal). maybe he implied it, since as a kike he wants plausible deniability (tricks the goyim into believing his lie, didn't truly call out celsius to be vulnerable to defamation charges)
