I'm not sure how far the franchise has spread, but in New England they will literally NEVER go out of business. I agree the food and coffee sucks, but they are ubiquitous and there is always a massive line in the store and the drivethru, with two stores 3 blocks away from each other. Dunkin stock is the single safest investment you could ever make. Forget grade a treasury bonds or real estate or index funds or btc. Tim hortons is much better but dunkin will never die. Anecdotally, i went on a business trip to Chicago with my boss once. We got back to New England at 10 at night, and the first thing he did when he got off the plane was to say how much he missed dunkin donuts and then proceeded to buy dunkin donuts coffee in the terminal.

I agree Dunkin is shitty. I have one literally a block from me so I go there sometimes for the convenience, but I wish every time I go that it was a Starbucks. The coffee is very mediocre and in their iced drinks they insist on giving you 75% ice. The fancy drinks cost as much as a Starbucks but are half as good at best.

He is absolutely correct about Starbucks' brick and mortar. The branding and ambiance is on point. It's a real cafe. Starbucks gets shit on for alot of things, rightfully so, but they at least provide a decent place to sit down in. Whenever I'm traveling and need a rest I always look for a Starbucks first.
