if they are lying about not lending shares (brokers lie all the time) you're gonna get btfo.
Those shares are lent 99% of the time to short sellers, of which will sell that stock that was lent so that they can rebuy it later and pay wealthsimple the share back.
How do you rebuy a stock that is literally in the tens of thousands of dollars when you originally sold it at 130$? You cannot.
Wealthsimple will go bankrupt trying to buy GME shares to cope with the fact none of the people it lent to is giving back the shares, and default on everything... That includes the share it owes you.

peak poorfag thinking, jeopardizing an incredible amount of returns due to a small barrier of entry. This is how I know DRS is meant to be the way, they make it really inconvenient and place the most cliche traps for consoomer zombie thinking (sacrificing future returns for convenience, small barrier to entry, etc.). If it were as simply as pushing a shiny button that automated everything for you I would be a lot more wary of it.
