This is wrong as well. XOP has literally just crashed 18% - in 5 trading days. The vertical climb has been deleted. These stocks are almost flat since the Russia invasion. The upside scenario over the next 2 months is obvious. The downside scenario is demand going lower due to complete economic collapse, but with downside likely capped at ~$80 oil prices, stocks are STILL cheap. A few that I follow are actually trading lower than they were back when oil WAS at $80 before the Ukraine invasion. This despite 6 months of solid profits.

Regardless, my whole point was that volatility is being underpriced at this point. Call options are cheaper despite higher realized vol.
Stocks that were gonna get called away from me are now having options expire OTM and so I've gotten some free premiums this past month. I'm betting that next month it rebounds and finally holds a real high.

To be honest it doesn't really matter which ones are cheaper right now because the whole market is riding one fat macro wave. Price performance between individual equities with similar factors has been pretty indistinguishable. So in the end you can play whatever you want and probably win with decent timing.

Gear energy (GXE.TO) is one example that's cheaper than pre-invasion, despite the fact that profits of the last 3 months have made it debt free, it's launched a dividend, and started buybacks. No options though since its Canada and OTC listed only. Africa oil corp (AOI.TO) is another example .
VET is one that I'm buying options on in this pullback. Europe NG is even more fucked than before due to that US export terminal explosion and Russia putting the squeeze, yet VET has sold off in line with the rest of the energy sector stocks.
PBR is another one. Technically it's stock price is lower than it traded pre-invasion, but if you add back the ~2 dollars in divvies it's actually slightly positive. That's a 20% dividend they've paid out within 6 months by the way.
