Crypto's value relative to fiat is based largely on lots of people putting their EXTRA cash into this internet funny money and also people who think they are on to a winner dumping their entire life savings into it. When the economy is cooling and people don't have extra it all gets pulled back for day to day living. Same thing happens to the stock market the difference is those companies continue to trade and their revenue streams hold the line where crypto just tanks. If you can predict the bottom you can make a lot of money, but at this point crypto has been bottoming out for over a year, maybe it will recover but there's no telling how long a time frame that's going to be.
