Should I do it? I will probably harvest 10 to 15k in 5 to 10 years (today money). And the land is pretty cheap because it's 30~40 minutes away from my town center.
It's seem a solid investment, because land always goes up, and worst case scenario, I can grow potatoes there to survive the "end of the world as we know".

What are the cons? I feel that if I keep my money in the bank, it will just be eaten away by inflation...

I considered buying land to grow my food but the tax man would rape my ass if I farm land while not being a professional farmer. In my shithole you must pay a 14% upfront when you buy land if you're not a farmer and also you have several other limitations.

In my country you pay based on how much land and what are you doing with the land. Anything under 50ha of land pay pocket change.
Here is just a little difficult to get financing if you are not a farmer, which sucks because the age of the average farmer is really old, and famine will be hardcore when they start to die.
