49651351 No.49651351 [Reply] [Original]

It costs me $4 to get it made by Alibaba chinks. I sell it for $20. $6 in amazon fees. $10 profit per item. I sell about 5 a day consistently. Almost $20k a year of passive income, all because I am a genius inventory. Any other inventors out there?
>Here's a little jew tip I learned that works. I created the same product in a much smaller size and put in on the listing too. I make it way overpriced. That way when they see the bigger size it looks very cheap and they buy it and think they are getting a deal.

What these shitty larp threads don't tell you are the other costs associated with his plan. It could take months to settle contract with manufacturers in China and have the products shipped overseas.

>> No.49651656

>>49651529
Takes about 2 weeks for manufacturers to make. It's a very simple product. And then they express ship it to me air freight, because it is a small, lightweight product.

Heh ya. $20k passively just from that. Then I flip shit on eBay and FBA. Make another 6 figgies from that. Then I have a few other passive income sources I built when I was younger. Pretty comfy. Haven't had a job since 2014. I made it in that crypto bull run. Then quit my job and started making businesses, because I had a bunch of free time with no more waging my life away. I highly recommend making money in crypto.

The first product I made was successful. I knew it would be. It is related to a hobby I do, that has a very large following. The product is something that people were already using (including me), except they were using make-shift versions of it themselves. I just took the idea and made it better and bulk manufactured it.

For real, fren. Using this mindset is a great way to invent new products to fund your NEET lifestyle. If people are making their own shitty things because they are needed for making a task easier, pay attention. Take the idea and perfect it and then get it manufactured. There are probably tons of ideas out there like this to capitalize on. The problem if you need to be in the niches/hobbies to see them.

I got a 20k raise this year and a 20k bonus. I work from home, make 200k/yr in a low cost of living city and never exceed 10hr/wk. Feels good to be a software dev.

I used to be into wanting to invent products, watching these videos and reading books about it:

https://www.youtube.com/c/inventRight/videos

But then I got a job and kind of forgot about it. I should get back into it though. Did you get any intellectual property protection, or if they copy your product you don't care?

>> No.49652588

>>49652556
I didn't get any protection. It is too simple of an idea to even get any type of protection.

I'm working for my parents, slowly getting some ownership transferred over to minimize the tax burden. Some R&D, mostly systems engineering. We manufacture everything in house, sell on about a dozen different platforms. About $4m in revenue this year

I see. How hard is it to get the chinks to make your stuff? Do they speak english?

>> No.49652672

>>49652556
Plus it is not making enough money for people to copy I don't think. $20k a year is pretty small, and if they competed with me, it would be even smaller for both of us. Plus, I tried selling them off of Amazon and they don't sell very good. I have over 150 positive reviews on Amazon now, which would be hard to compete with I think.

>> No.49652687

>>49652662
Yes. It's easy. Just use Adobe Illustrator and draw out the exact diagram of what you need. Crosses language barriers even if they didn't speak good English.

>> No.49652720

>>49652687
Nice, thank you. And then you have it delivered to your home and then you send it to amazon's warehouse? Is it that simple?

>> No.49652734

>>49652720
Yes it is. Apply for UPC exemption on Amazon. Package it and put an FBA label on it.

>> No.49652750

>>49652672
If they can, the Chinese dropshippers will eventually copy you. It happens to pretty much everything we sell once it reaches a certain threshold. They cheat their way to the top of the rankings on Amazon by using the same ASIN for stuff, too, so new products inherit all the reviews they've collected

>> No.49652773

>>49652750
I wouldn't be surprised if they did this. I've feared it.

>The problem if you need to be in the niches/hobbies to see them.

how do you know if a niche is big enough to be profitable though? I know a lot of people who refurbish old products so they can still use them, but I don't know if their scene is big enough to support a business like this. Surely someone would've already capitalized on it, no?

>> No.49652926

>>49651351
Soon enough one of the chinks you hired to manufacture it will give the idea to his cousin who will start producing it in his own factory and sell it through Amazon himself.

t. did what you did and the chinks copied it and i suddenly had 10 chink competitors within 2 years

>> No.49652949

>>49652876
Hard to say. If you have an idea just get a small amount made and list it on Amazon. See what happens. You won't be hurt too badly if it is a flop.

>> No.49652982

>>49652926
Ya, I hear it is common. Hopefully mine is not profitable enough for them to mess with.

>> No.49653018

>>49652982
Each chink company has like 500 products they sell, and they don't need as high margins as you because the CoL is so much lower in China. It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when. Don't get complacent, but start working on new products

>> No.49653055

>>49652773
It's frustrating. I wish Amazon would put flags next to sellers to make it obvious which country you're buying from, that would at least mitigate letting them on to some extent

They do this at car (rhymes with zonda) dealerships to trick you into getting the worthless extra warranty. They fudge the numbers to make it look like your monthly payment is only like 8 to ten dollars more with the warranty.

it's all well and good until amazon locks your account and demands to know who your suppliers are and the schematics to your product.

then they'll close your account anyway and magically you'll see your shit under the amazon basics brand a month later.

they will keep all of your unpaid money and inventory in their warehouse.

>> No.49656221

The chink manufacturers will just end up selling it themselves on amazon straight from the factory, this is what happens and its impossible to compete with them. This happens once an item gets popular

Hey Hulkamaniacs ill let you guys in on a secret.
You know thotleggings?
My GF had a popular insta and was paying $60 for fucking thotpants. I found the SAME ones on ali for $11 and so we started selling them online using her followers as our first clients and then did some ads.
I make about 6k a month from it doing nothing.

Find some niche shit and rebrand it. Youll make money if you market it right. Headphones, mouse pads, hats, car spoilers, whatever you know about.
