so turning bitcoin into a real asset

bitcoin has a lot of energy behind it. fiat is backed by the collective confidence in the kike system, thats what the GDP you mention is, if everyone dumped it at once itd be worthless.
the energy behind bitcoin represents the collective will of people who want to destroy the system, how much value you think thats worth is of course subjective but both are backed by the same forces if not the same institutions.

dont take me for a bitcoin evangelist, quite the opposite is the truth. the technology is the future even if bitcoin isnt, the decentralised blockchain will take over the entire internet, in the not too distant future we will have decentralised social media, search engines, video hosting, AI even. bitcoin as a currency is largely proven to be outdated by more modern blockchain tech, remember that facebook wasnt the first social network, google wasnt the first search engine, apple didnt invent mp3 players but all used existing tech and improved upon it.

i think the time will come where bitcoin will be replaced but itll only be replaced by another decentralised crypto currency and itll largely replace fiat in everydayy use, theres already coins criminals prefer which is usually the main use case people cite and we still need to get past the quantum computing question. if i had to make a bet now for 5 years into the future it would be on the first crypto currency thats resistent to quantum computing power that goes mainstream and is used like a real currency but it will be 100% a non centralised coin. maybe itll be running in peoples toasters or the background of our phones who knows.

the venezuelan government recently said they were launching a coin tied to the countries oil and gas exports that will act as the nations currency, those are real world assets but theyre centralised, nobody with a sane mind would ever be buying into commiecoin aslong as somebody else has the trigger.

Well the guy asked about 100k.

100k is completely doable. Very likely in fact. 100k would put BTC market cap at 2 trillion. That's not a lot at all. It's about 20% of gold MC.

Why the latter statement? It is based on trust that the united states government will always accept it for tax liabilities and debts, and it is also enshrined in law that every other institution (private or public) will accept it for debts. There is nothing wrong with calling that "trust", but it's trust that the govt will take all of your shit and throw you in jail if you don't pay them.

But I don't see how they need oil for that anymore than any other country.

You want to keep some in on the off chance that it hits $20,000 fine; but if you've got a sizeable percentage of your wealth invested in something so volatile then you're just asking to get fucked when the (((big boys))) cash out and the normies start panic selling.

From what I understand, if you're talking about the story I'm thinking of Bank of America claimed that that was due to specific circumstances regarding the timing of his payment. I think they just wanted his house and weren't accepting his money because of whatever they could leverage in his contract to get his assets. But by law they have to accept cash for debts, even if they might raise a red flag with the IRS if you walk in with thousands of dollars in a bag. Bank of America says that they will accept cash for mortgage payments, so if they don't accept cash the next time you pay your mortgage you should sue them. But that is aside from the main thing that compels people to use dollars, which is taxes.

>>4962292

I don't see why they would. Most cases of hyperinflation have been supply side shocks. Weimar was a special case, Germany experienced supply shocks because after it lost the war a lot of industrial capacity was lost (literally, they lost access to industrial areas) but it also had to pay off war debts. It ended up inflating its currency by buying shit tons of foreign currency to pay debts. That caused its value against those currencies to plummet.

Which is just to say that I don't think the United States will experience hyperinflation anytime soon. The last time it had really bad inflation was in the 70s during the oil crises, which was another supply side shock.

No its not going to go to $0; but it was designed to be an alternative currency not a speculative investment and its insane volatility has rendered it unusable as an actual currency.

If you got in before the big investors started buying it then you made out like a bandit. If you bought in when or shortly after the big traders started buying it then you also made a killing but now its growth is driven by normies who are buying in because they heard about it on the 5 O Clock news and they don't want to get left out on the new trend.

Now that normies are buying it, its reached its saturation point there is nowhere left for it to go and if the big investors sell then the normies will follow suit and its price will crash.

I'm not saying you should cash out completely; but its time to take a profit on it while you can.

Fiat currencies, even though most of them (historically) eventually crash and become worthless paper, still have the backing of a state (and armed forces) behind their valuations. For instance, the power of the United States, it's armed forces, it's trade relationships, it’s commercial heft, all its’ influence .. all of it .. can be brought to bear to support the legitimacy and value of the U.S. dollar. It’s the stock-in-trade of the country. So .. what supports the value of cryptocurrency over the long term? There's no centralized dispute mechanism. There's nothing backing the 'currency' other than the crypto algorithm. Suppose ‘the state’ gets pissed off enough at these incursions on their fiat. Or the financial power brokers get irritated by the emergence of a system outside of their control? What prevents the algorithm being broken by a quantum computer, or a state-backed hacking entity? What happens to Bitcoin, Etherium, etc., when hundreds or thousands of organizations start pushing their own versions of a crypto-currency? So many vulnerabilities in the support for a $16k Bitcoin. There’s over 1300 variations of crypto-currencies on some listings already. Competition among other crypto-currency purveyors could gut the price on these high flyers. The block chain concept is intriguing and has potential but who knows if the current implementation is a lasting one. Looks like a house of cards from too many angles.

The biggest thing as to why I'm not even touching Bitcoin, is that for every seller, there has to be a buyer. Just because Bitcoin is at $16k, doesn't meant you could sell all of your 100 coins instantly. It'd be sweet to turn say $50 into $160k, but not many people are keen on buying it at that price. Especially when some people setting up some shops that are charging insane commissions on facilitating the transactions. Bitcoin is the new hot money, or hot trend. Whatever you want to call it. It can be exchanged for mostly online services, and some goods. But good luck paying most bills with that shit. >the markets pretty liquid, you wouldnt really have a problem selling 100

So you're telling me if I had 100 coins right now, someone would pay me $1.6m for them? Nuh uh. This shit is like stocks. Not many people are willing to dump $1.6m in one transaction. You'd have to pyramid your selling, and hope to average $1.2m as long as people are dumb enough to buy into this bull rush.

This is why I prefer Forex instead. Once the trade is opened, a counterparty has to go the opposite way with it. If I win, they lose, if I lose, they win. Aside from shitty bucketshop-tier market makers, a good retail trader can make the market his bitch. Because they have no choice but to accept the closing price when I choose so.

Coiners shpuld be really concerned that Bitcoin Futures are now being traded on Wall Street. The trading of bitcoin futures just means volatility will be created by Wall St to profit off of inexperienced bitcoin holders. Notice that they trade the Futres, not the currency itself.

>Bitcoin is a currency, first and foremost

FAIL
It's a useless piece of shit, certainly not a currency that can be used for 90% of the transactions an average person makes. But wait, I thought it had become a store of value. Now it's a currency again? I am losing track.

Not Bitcoin though. It's utter shit (not only as a currency, but in general) and the Dark Net Markets are abandoning it. They are all jumping on the Monero train. Choo choo
