So I will be unaffected. I only send funds to my metamask and bittrex account. The addresses never change. Also, you should just use gemini instead. ETH withdrawals are usually free.

Coinbase keeps 2% of its holdings in hotwallets. The other 98% is kept in cold wallets. This protects you from a MtGox situation. But it also means liquidity becomes a problem. So when the markets enter turmoil they have to close the value so to speak so funds can be transferred. Thats the price for security.

Source?

I use CB as an onramp, but most of my coins are already moved to my own wallets.

Everyone expected DeFi to burn in entirety first, but it seems that CeFi must burn instead, raping DeFi probably comes with regulations after CeFi has been burned to the ground.

weird, you guys didn't already have whitelisting enabled?
I've had it for over a year now.
48 hours is the normal time to setup a new address. Honestly, as a security feature, it's not too bad.

They make you opt in on cb pro to "whitelisting". They word it weird, but you can juts disable. Whatever you choose, you're either waiting 48 hours so cb lets you withdraw to the new whitelisted address, or you have a 48 hour cooldown before you can withdraw because you turned it off.

Have you used whitelisting before? I suspect that is only affecting accounts that have NEVER used whitelisting before, From what info i've been able to gather, it seems if you've used it and/or disabled it in the past you are unaffected. it seems it was only forced on accounts that have never used it before. i could be wrong tho
