they implemented their own hash function (and it was promptly broken by actual cryptographers almost immediately who pointed out that IOTA had no idea what they're doing)

their network isn't decentralized at all, it requires one of their servers to function as the 'coordinator' -- they won't release the source code for this server and would prefer investors not to know it even exists

the rest of their tech is basically unproven, speculative, and poorly coded

they've stated that their own developers are 'too autistic to write documentation' -- this is an actual quote
