Should I even bother trying to invest my measly $500 in crypto or should I just forget about all of this and focus on school? I don't even own any coins, yet I'm already wasting multiple hours per day on /biz/ when I should be studying for finals. I imagine it will only get worse and a lot more stressful if I actually buy in. Is it even worth it?

Or should I set myself free once and for all?

Pic related; I actually have a lot riding on my education. Can't go into ortho if you're posting Wojaks all day...

Invest the 500, then focus on school. It can and should be both.

I wish I had bought $500 worth of btc in 2011 right when I started pharmacy school and held until now. My student loans would be paid off and I wouldn't even have to work.

Take the money you would use for tuition and put it all in crypto now. BTC will be 100k and you'll still be able to make 6x. An average nice university in America costs at least $40k a year now. If you took the $160k you wouldve spent on a degree and put it in crypto in January you would have over $3 million now.

So you're suggesting that I focus on long term holds? Yeah, that's what it would have to be. Day trading is out of the question. I would need to choose very wisely. I'm thinking along the lines of a Top 200 coin with 10x potential by mid to late 2018, at which point I'd cash out my initial $500 investment and go all in with the remaining $4500 on anther medium-to-long term moon mission. Repeat until my portfolio pays off my six figure med school debt.

Long term hold is exactly what you would need to do. I've made 2500% returns since June just holding. Don't let it get in the way of your degree.

The purpose of academic institutions is no longer to transmit knoledge, but to issue a piece of paper telling others that you know what you say you know.
Sadly some people still believe what that pieces of paper say.
