4954280 No.4954280 [Reply] [Original]

Started 2 weeks ago with 1k$.

Made some money off BTC, but

>missed IOTA 5x
>missed Einsteinium 10x
>missed Bulwark 5x
>missed shorting and then longing BTC during obvious dips

How do I fucking cope with this while knowing about it. I got way too scared seeing BTC being volatile as fuck and just getting out of the market.

Could of made 30k$ grand already, but have about 1,5k$.

Did I do the right thing by going out and being safe during these times? The only obvious thing I should of done is short/long BTC. But then again, I can't be woke up 24/7.

Ty, nobody I know in real life will ever know how it is to miss out on these gains. I know I'm only 2 weeks in, but I've really missed a lot of sleep already and was completely unhealthy for past 2 weeks observing what's going on 16hours per day and lurk /biz/, while making only 500$.

I think I should go out and breathe a little. There's still going to be a lot more opportunities in crypto this year.

Seriously, you didn't, and just as many people were burned buying into the wrong coin. If you are afraid to risk money, you SHOULD get out. That said, I lost 50% of my investment the first month, but in doing so I actually learned to trade, day-trading, short term holds, getting in before the spike and cutting losses when it doesn't materialize. I'm up about 10k and cashed out my original investment.
If you have to "cope", you may be too emotional to play this game.

OP if you were the type of person to just jump on some crypto bandwagon without doing your due diligence, then you would have more likely went into a crypto that dropped in value because there are a lot more of them.

Going from 1 to 1.5k is a good start.

The wisest thing to do is to really do your homework in researching as many coins as you can and hear multiple takes on each.

This is my approach and I have a lot more money than you to play with as a long term BTC holder. I've only been looking at the alt market for the past month but my approach is to take relatively smaller carefully calculated risks. My first and only move so far I've put 1 BTC into XRB and I'm up .4 BTC.

Of course I could have done a lot better but that is pretty good and I've yet to lose a satoshi which is more important while I'm learning.

Only difference is you have less dough to play with so you can't afford to be as patient. The amount of return on investment in terms of your time spent isn't as good. That sucks but that is the reality of your situation.

Your problem isn't that you have missed out, the problem is you don't have enough dough to confidently play with to where you can put in your due diligence and make something meaty enough in return.

So you either have to accept this or become more impatient and more wreckless... Which could easily leave you JUSTed.

I can guarantee you’ll be losing money with that mindset. Do research and pick a coin you like, put in money according to risk associated, buy only when it’s down(be patient) and wait for a few months at least.

Smart investors think about exiting out when you are thinking about buying something.

Doing better than me. I started with $850 and am only at $1000 now with current BTC prices. I have only made up for transfer fees with some of my investments, I can't manage more than 10 bucks a trade. I got burnt for $50 falling for one of those discord pump n dump scams.

New strategy tomorrow, work on a bunch of rising coins to get $20-30 profit atleast 5 times a day to come out with 100 bucks. At the end of the week that's $700.

I used to be so frustrated when I only had like $5k to trade with that I wasn't getting to $10k, $20k, $50k, $100k, $400k trading levels with the big shots.

Now I'm at about $80k from that $5k and I'm just happy I can consistently make a few hundred/$1000 if it's a good day per day.

The Bulwark team isn't shilling, though. They're just working:

(Started and working on presently)
--- Java backend that will power mobile wallets is about 75% -- It works, it can send/receive coins, it can read our headers, hash NIST5, etc. Goal for completion (of the backend) is about a week. After that, we can work on mobile wallets
--- Wrote NIST5 hashing module in pure JS, will be important later on with anything web/bwk centric, ecommerce applications, web wallets
--- Starting to work on porting popular bitcore full node backend/frontend

If it's based on Java, you damn better believe it. Slowest platform ever. I'm not sure if they picked this out of developer incompetence or if they were hoping for crossplatform usage. Either way, as a software engineer, I would never have used Java to develop a crypto, way too slow. If they argue otherwise, it would just affirm that they are incompetent developers and aren't in touch with the real world.

I try to keep %75-80 of my portfolio in established coins and %20-25 in tokens. I adjust by scraping the profits from the tokens into coins that are on a dip to rebalance. If there are no token profits, I re-evaluate whether I feel strongly about the token and see what news is on the horizon for it.
