theres no such thing as an altcoin "standard"
the competition is too large, and there's no difference between an altcoin launched 5 years after bitcon and one launched 15 years after bitcoin. technology is all that matters in the altcoin world, and monero isn't keeping up

Bitcoin has plenty of options to maintain privacy. Why would you take the risk of an altcoin for a feature that is secondary to limited supply, which would be ruined if an altcoin ever caught up to bitcoin?
