Any anons want to share money saving meal tips? I recently started making batches of chicken noodle soup that can serve 10 and freezing the leftovers. It’s a great source of protein and vitamins from the veggies. I’ve been buying in bulk and the average cost of each meal is less than a cup of ramen. I’ve only eaten chicken noodle soup for the past three weeks and I haven’t gotten tired of it yet. I’ve even tried different ways of consuming
>Soup
>Popsicles
>Shakes

Any anons know other good cheap meals to make that are high in protein/vitamins?

Beans and rice in bulk. You're on the right track with the soups. Drink water instead of soft drinks. Reuse teabags instead of coffee.

Brown rice, frozen bulk broccoli, bulk chicken or fish, 5 dozen eggs, multivitamins. should be the basis of your diet. you'll get fit naturally and save lots of money. highly recommend black beans as well.

I'm a /fit/izen who spends an average of $40 on food a week. Rules are simple.
>1. Either get a club membership (Sam's Club, CostCo) or use your SSN to get into a restaurant wholesale store
>2. Things you buy fall into three categories; bulk (for volume - broccoli, rice, beans) protein (self explanatory) and taste (onions, hot sauce, garlic powder)
>3. You should be buying taste ingredients monthly, bulk ingredients biweekly, and protein weekly
That's it. That's all there is to it. Weeks where you end up cleaning out your pantry and you have to buy everything you might spend ~$110, but that's fine, because the next week you know you'll be spending $20 for four pounds of meat and that's it. Buy what you'll eat and eat what you'll buy. Your frozen chicken noodle soup looks disgusting to me, but if it works for you then more power to you.

Another /fit/ bro here. Add in oats, pasta and potatos. Also for protein go for eggs and chicken breast as your meat choice. Drink lots of milk if you aren't a nigger

What does bulk chicken look like? Buying while chickens and deboning? Or a giant bag of frozen tenders?

like chicken breasts. Before covid it was under 99 cents a pound. Now it's about $2.50 or so, but still the cheapest meat you can get besides sausage (depending on price, sausage can be a good deal as well).

At my store chicken breast is 4 dollars a pound. Maybe 3.50 if going for the cheapest option. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong stores. Are you buying frozen or fresh?

>> No.49493032

>>49492990
I go to Aldi's and Walmart and I think a place called Food Lion. All cheap shitholes. I didn't used to. But it's usually frozen. If you have a membership to a store that allows you to buy in bulk, you'll have more savings. I'd say buy a freezer but your goal is to save money.

>> No.49493079

>>49493032
Yeah I have an extra freezer with some empty space so yeah I should go for it. I'd just be afraid I'd be caught a few years from now wondering why I let all that frozen chicken go to waste when I buy fresh every week. I guess I just gotta retrain my brain to reach into the freezer.

I believe your goal right now should generally be prepping for continually rising food prices. I can't as much as I'd like, but I converted my linen closet to store probably a hundred pounds of various pasta, rice, beans, and some calorie dense canned goods. freezer is full of chicken and sausage, and usually have some chicken thawed out in the fridge i intend to cook quickly.

For me I focus on eating small meals frequently just so I eat because adhd/adderall. That said I spend 30-50$ on groceries when I go to the grocery.

I buy
>a pack of chicken breast
>7-14 oikos triple zero 15g protein yogurts
>loaf of bread
>peanut butter and jelly
>eggs (once a month)
>English muffins
>store brand tomato basil sauce
>turkey pepperoni (store brand again)
Actually all of it is store brand if possible
>12 pack of cliff bars (8.99$)

Then I kinda have what I’m gonna eat planned and I make everything one night so the whole loaf becomes 11 pb&j sandwiches wrap and throw in the freezer. The chicken breast gets breaded and air fried to become 6-8 fried chicken breast patties I wrap and throw in the freezer then microwave or air fry again to make a sandwich

>7am an oikos yogurt
>10am pb&j
>12pm cliff bar
>5pm chicken sandwich

Then when I’m not working I’ll make like 2 English muffin pizzas as a snack thrown in between cliff bar and chicken sandwich

I’ve saved ass loads and been healthier and have lost reasonable weight doing this since breaking up with my fiancé

When we were together all she’d do is order DoorDash or cook super expensive meals (that were amazing)

But overall I’m healthier happier and financially better doing this I used to just eat like once a day some shit that was ordered so I’d gotten fat. I’m a pretty decent cook so it’s not as bland as it sounds

>> No.49494414

I make burritos and freeze them. They reheat in the microwave perfectly. You can throw anything you want in there really.

>Rice
>potatoes/pepper/onion
>egg
>misc meat
>cheese

I made a shit load of them, on average they are 1300 calories each. I usually eat 3 a day and im up 15 lbs in 2 months.

>>49492566
ignore the people saying beans and rice. that is high carb fart food that will leave you constantly hungry, gaining weight, and queefing out of your asshole.
>canned tuna
>canned chicken
>sticks of butter
>iodized table salt (which you'll need to keep your fluid status/BP up)
sure, this is more expensive, but your health is a precious commodity, and rice and beans is just poisoning your body

I seldom see people advocating for guerilla gardening. If you live in an apartment, go to a ravine, walk in where nobody ever goes and drop kale and lettuce seeds all over. Look like weeds and will self seed for the future. You can also grow herbs and shit in your window which makes your standard bean+rice cheap meal significantly better.
