You should create and maintain difference in your social status compared to your girlfriend if you want a healthy relationship. Women are wired in a way where they mostly find men sexually appealing if the men have higher status than they have. If you invest together that make you equal. Build personal wealth and support your family but you should have the control. Of course you shouldn't restrain your girlfriend but try to be ahead of her. For a start: You should invest without her.
