in case you're serious, check out TF2 Marketplace, Diablo2 black market, the entire steam marketplace. There is a need/desire for these solutions.

Im curious to see how it goes in the long run though, there was a big uprising a while ago when a lot of game devs announced their desire to explore NFT and steam outright says no. at the time I remember reading one of the big reasons being environmental costs, while is a valid concern, is a temporary concern imo. I think there was some other stuff about gambling but im not sure what.

What stinks about that outrage though is that there is a massive incentive for existing publishers to not let this get started, and it wouldnt surprise me if they seeded some of the outrage like big companies are known to do. Having a NFT gaming inventory would outright render steams digital item marketplace completely obsolete while also addressing some of big issues like item duping.

But that being said, it does seem like what retail is doing now by researching, buying and holidng, and drsing a stock they feel really confident about is doing a pretty good job at stirring up the pot and making a lot of rich people uncomfortable.

You do have a good point though. At this current rate, one of their ways out is to cheat, either via the fed, gov, or whatever greasy trickery at their disposal. If it comes down to it and that happens, honestly it was always in their power and they would have done it anyway regardless which stock was causing them problems.
