Is a payroll specialist an okay job?
I see the start where I'm at is 20 an hr.

What an I looking for?
Simple job.
More or less little stress (though I hear this is high stress?)
Ideally I'm left in a corner by myself

Fyi I am a bit on the retarded side. Is this job still doable for me?

Ngl though.. I would ideally have a part time job. I hate full time. This position is full time. They train too at least..

What kind of upward mobility/pay scale should I expect? I'm in California

>> No.49472271

sounds ok, pay seems a lil low unless you're in one of the more affordable areas

GL HF, get better as managing your time so you arent so streesed out by having to be at work

I work in a business admin office.
Based on what my payroll colleague says I would hate that job.
the same few individuals every pay period never fill out their time sheets no matter how many warnings he sends so he has to either track them down or talk to their supervisor to get it filled out.
People are stupid and correctly filling out the time sheet is a challenge for some even if they work a straightforward 40h week with no time off days.
People will pester you on when their raises kick in and fight you on the pay if their gross pay wasn't what they expected (literally nothing to do with you and all to do with taxes and other deductions, but they'll still bitch because the number "feels too low")
Rather than doing basic math if they need to take a leave. They will just take leave and let you figure out if they had enough time off hours to pay for it
You WILL get called and asked to fill out someones time sheet for them even though you are not in their department and have no idea of knowing what their schedule is
its dumb
That said these are all problems that have nothing to do with you directly so if you dont let it bother you its a good job and there's no physical work. if its an upgrade on your current situation go for it but I'd say use it as a stepping stone to get into a more advanced accounting position.

>Is a payroll specialist an okay job?
It depends on your qualifications and ability to handle payroll. If you are a mindless blob then simple repetitive work is for you. If you have a brain you can use the position to find out how much everyone makes, how much the company spends on payroll, learn the business inside out and possibly move up the ranks to run the company. You will need good people and business skills and drive. Or, you can make shit money and watch it all fade away as inflation destroys you.

Your choice.

The company should fire these types immediately as the demonstrate troublesome personality disorders and they doing that shit just to be difficult.

I'm pretty retarded. I passed managerial, financial, and intermediate accounting, but did not grasp any of the concepts

Eh. That's why I gamble in assets. I lost over 200k being a fucking idiot, but next bullrun I'll probably make more anyways assuming we don't go hardcore recession mode

unless you're out in the boonies of california 20 bucks an hour is probably not very good for the cost of living.
if you're actually unemployed or somehow make less currently, you should likely just take it and keep looking if you hate it.

Eh. I live with my parents because fuck this real estate market. I don't plan on moving out until I can buy a full home in cash.

Either that or a gf to split the bill, but I fucked up with women so oh well (and no, I don't get attracted to people easily. Maybe 1/10,000+ has my attention).

Does not seem like you have the smarts to excel in the the business then

I lost over 200k

You sound retarded, but I commend you on having 200k to lose, so maybe there is hope. The first rule of investing is to not lose money. If you had just kept the 200k in a bank or under your mattress you would still have it. It would be worth less due to inflation, but you would still have it.

fuck. i really hope california real estate comes back down to earth. you'd think with your government's insanity some people would leave enough to cool things off a bit.
My wife and I make 200k combined and i don't know that we could afford a house in many cities there. no idea how those with a median salary there afford to eat with housing being what it is, plus high taxes, but it's good that you can crash with parents for now.
overall if that's your only job offer i'd suggest to take it, it at least shows that you're doing something to your future prospects and your family. even if you got the dumbs a little, i would think you could leverage this into a higher-paying job and slurp bigly before the next bull run.

Dude, stfu. Probably more money than you've ever seen. My mistake was ignoring macro indicators. Never going to get caught again. Being married to my bags aka being emotional costed me but never again

Person doing payroll is getting paid more than me so fuck it. It’s his job to do it. Not my problem he isn’t out here helping me with my job.

Oh bro you are so rich making $20 an hour. I never seen that kind of money bro, can you share your secret?

You are obviously retarded.

It's okay if it gets your foot into accounting or HR. Payroll is frustrating and annoying until you memorize all the shit that goes with it.

payroll specialists are generally lower level jobs that are not too taxing for the roasties and retards. however, these jobs tend to be more menial and voluminous especially towards payroll dates.
