idk if i buy that. there were some interesting threads on /pol/ a while back about secret groups (like the mythical xsg cisq1 greyhound shill discord) who make and spread memes together. i could see that kind of scenario- closed groupchats more or less, communities of creators being responsible for some of this content. but i can't shake the intuition that some of this stuff is more centralized than we give it credit for, and it takes great pains to make itself appear decentralized and collective.

it cracks me up because i've been playing with these same concepts when approaching the question of how to organize a DeFi-enabled DAO, both as an economic and political structure.

Thus far my main metaphors have been political and economic, examples from the past- credit unions, cooperatives, anarcho-syndicalism i.e. citizen-controlled groups for mutual benefit. Reading EF Schumacher's book Small is Beautiful while participating in the Flare Finance launch is what started me down that path.

But there's something missing- I think even though they are useful puzzle pieces in some ways those concepts are still doomed in terms of societal/economic organization because they are playing by the same rules defined by the current power structure. they exist within the idea of states and markets and as long as we use the ideas and structures created by the current powerful interests, as long as we speak their language, our thing will be doomed to exist on the margins of the prior system (which will do everything it can to resist losing control and market share).

ironically it was /xsg/ that gave me the idea for something else, the same idea as Jim Rutt apparently- the idea of organizing society as a game, a collaborative, ongoing game. the people who came up with ARGs (from that same alt-Silicon Valley milieu that produced discordianism and the internet) were inspired by the book Finite and Infinite Games. Finite games are competitions, hierarchical, have winners and losers.

Infinite games are different- collaborative, and potentially played for different objectives. for example, a game where you only win if everybody wins. this kind of system, especially if it were economically attractive, could form a positive feedback loop, and grow in a decentralizedodemocratic manner

Anyway I think calling it Game B is a really cool idea.
