You know this hasn't even started right? Without being hyperbolic, the only thing reducing demand right now is an expectation that the mother of all disinflationary depressions is on the way because they will actually hike rates and more importantly allow the bond market to sell off to raise the 10yr rate.
That's horseshit; the congressional budget office says they want to 'reduce' the deficit from 3 trillion to 1.2 trillion avg until 2031.
That's over ten trillion in new money, supposedly financed at a higher interest rate? How are you guys not picking this up yet, that is literally the government telling you it is going for full on inflationary recession for the next 10 fucking years.
Gas right now is cheap.

No. When money supply increaes, the value of the dollar goes down and the price of risk assets skyrockets. You literally saw it happen through covid. The general cost of living is the thing that assrapes people.

also note that it isnt just a straight line up. Prices in all risk assets other than housing and commodities will be incredibly volatile as the government flip flops between increasing money supply to stop a depression and increasing interest rates in order to account for the increased money supply. Pic related will happen where you get huge crashes and huge pumps as the dollar dies

printing and spending while the economy contracts is literally zimbabwe. There is literally no worse case scenario than gdp declining and the US government having zero fucks to give about spending money. Even if the Federal Reserve was truly independent, they would be killing thousands or millions if they hiked rates while the government financed itself at 5,6,7..15,16,17%?!?

They did it in 1980 because they had 31% debt to gdp.. they could afford higher interest payments. US is already spending 430 billion on interest a year (4th budget item) and that's a 1.53% efffective rate.

Guys. That's 1.53% effective interest rate and it's 430 billion fucking dollars. They are NOT planning on financing over 10 trillion of debt from here to 2031 (it's gunna end up being more we all know that) at 7%.

This is literally all I can think about all day lol, it's the biggest story since literally the french revolution. The US might lose the republic because of this, and it's pretty fucking obvious how if you just watch these assholes print the country into oblivion.

>inflationary recession
what does this mean exactly?
The thing is; I'm doing my masters and am considering taking out a loan again. I'm a yuropoor so I got favourable ones that started at 0% interest and 1%. The last one would be 4% however. Is it worth investing this money into appreciating assets now? I'm unironically thinking of rare instruments for instance, and some into smart options ( one thing I eyed was the rivian dump, which did dump just as expected)
Will the 4% interest fuck me long term? Or if like you're saying we are going full zimbabwe, shouldnt we debt max now anyway?

I think the U.S. will definitely balkanize soon, there's no way a senile pedophile like Biden can hold the country together. They will never stop printing either no matter what the FED tries to pretend, so I wouldn't be surprised if next year we see three-digit inflation.

Inflation spirals out of control real quick and the only thing Biden is doing is begging the Saudis for more oil, so I expect 2023 to be a very fun year.

Honestly, I'm going to tell you the silver lining: The boomer generation is gunna be right fucking next to us as we go through this lol.. Even if they tap tap the brakes (so to speak) look at the damage being done to the economy. Each time this happens they print, repo, bond suppress etc... Each time they take a hit of the heroin needle or whatever they need a bigger dose.
The US government owns 8/30.5 trillion of the bond market. Lmfao they are NEVER going to find buyers for those bonds, to say they are going to unwind them into the market is like me saying i'm going to walk into the Mr Olympia competition tomorrow at 180 pounds and win...

If the debt has no recourse (no collateral), like credit card debt for example, you risk only your credit score. That being said credit card debt is 23% apr so...
Mortgages obviously collateralize the home, Car loan the car so on so forth... Maybe see if you can incorporate and hide behind bankruptcy?
Debtmax so that you lose everything just as asset become unattainable is not a good move so be careful.

Obviously HELOC's and adjustable rate mortgages will feel it, and if Im not mistaken, credit cards with adjustable rates as well because the cost of borrowing money becomes more expensive.
