If you're able to secure capital within the next 10 years you probably will because the housing market is going to come crashing in the next few months but because real estate is an extremely illiquid asset it takes years in total for things to play out. I unironically think we'll bottom out at the end of the decade and you can deploy your capital then.

why would you want to? im going to assume youre american, heres a little tip, most houses in this shit country are made of highly flammable materials, have terrible old plumbing, are filled with mold and asbestos, paint has lead in it and all of your neighbors are going to be complaining faggot ass karens about anything you do, find a city with rent control and let the asshole that owns it deal with garbage and water bills, property tax is increasing faster than many rent control laws, youre honestly fucked either way though, i pay 1k for a 1br, my neighbor pays nearly 2k for the same shit hole

I just saw these "float homes" what's the catch? looks kinda comfy. I guess it could sink and you would drown in your sleep, otherwise seems like a good deal when a land home is triple the price

there was a huge ice storm in pnw two years ago that destroyed a bunch of these, alot ended up floating down river too

>live in shitty house, let family live in nice big one.
>own fancy car
>have no gf, no wife, no kids, and no major responsibilities beyond looking after friends and family.
>house I live in is in rural area a few miles from town. It gets so quiet that if you turn everything in the house off you can hear your heart beating.
>Awake in the morning to the sound of chirping bluebirds; happly singing.

That's one way to look at it. But I wagie everyday so I don't get lonesome. It's a wonderful feeling knowing you own your home. I'm not trying to be arrogant or smug, I simply enjoy my lifestyle.

lmao there is so much you could say about the low quality of american houses and you picked things that apply to <10% of all houses that also would be known before buying.
