I was talking to my grandma and she mentioned an upcoming recession. I remember last year she asked me about doggy coin right before it crashed. Stocks are low and consumer goods are high. Why shouldn't i be putting every single dollar into the market? I do not trust the media

I feel like it's a cointoss really. Unemployment is low, home values making new highs, industrial output rising etc. Fed pivot later in the summer, gotta have some bags loaded before that happens.
Otoh the government is broke and has to finance their interest payments and oil is putting real brakes on the economy.

once the recession is all over the news you have like 2 years of pure hell. after that you invest all your money into stocks and enjoy the ride up for latleast ten years. i had to hunt for jobs in 2010. it was nightmare horror. nobody offered you jobs and nobody wanted young guys fresh out of school because of ma zero experience at 19.

The only thing I remember about back then was people getting fired. If you got fired then things sucked, otherwise nothing really changed, my employer took advantage of it by firing a bunch of people and then having us do their work as well as ours.

are mass layoffs even happening? everything seems pretty fine right now just gas is too expensive

>> No.49391876

Gas, food, rent, and everything else is more expensive. There are no mass layoffs (yet) right now, that comes later when these debt heavy companies can't sustain their musical chairs for funding. I don't know that much about a recession inflicted primarily by monetary policy though, it's unprecedented in some ways because this was always going to happen in infinite growth infinite debt ponzi world
