How will the fed affect people who already own homes and have fixed rate mortgages?

.....most home owners are retired baby boomers who don't work anyway.

that will depend on how many people get laid off. I think the fed raising interest rates isn't going to directly affect people who already have mortgages. It will cause an economic downturn but there isn't something special about the housing market that would cause it to be affected more than everything else, unlike in 2008.

Leaf here (ontario/toronto). My street has about 45 houses on it. Two have always been vacant investment properties, suspect its more like 5-6. Of the 45, 5 are currently for sale for at least one week and havent sold/very little foot traffic.

On my dogs usual walk of a mile or so, we are up to about 25 for sale. Anyone else thing shit will hit the fan here?

Pensions and social security don't go up with inflation, stocks and bonds are both crashing, you thought there would be survivors?

For me, it's good. I live in the south near the gulf coast and my house is pretty much paid for. Rent and housing prices are causing all the poorfag trash around me to move. Northern folk from wealthier cities who are really conservatives are coming down around my block in droves buying up houses nearing a million each. My city will only allow upscale condos and apartments to be built near me now. Life is breddy gud on my block
