Worked in retail when I was younger, general public is remarkably retarded and unpleasant to deal with. One situation that stood out was an old man who pissed down an isle in the neighboring department. Judging by the piss trails, that fucking terrorist didn't want to be caught standing and pissing in one place, so he was relieving himself bit by bit as he walked down the isles. i was experiencing an assload of racial tension at my last job. I was a "white" hispanic at a job that's 70% black. Story of my life. I've been around black people since birth. lots of fights, and racial discrimination. And I always got called a white boy. Even from hispanic people. Even though I was cut from their cloth I was even from a multiracial family. Anyway my co-workers were pretty chill overall. If people couldn't contain their hood bullshit they were fired or quit. The nature of the job meant you kind of had to be humble to work there. In a way the nature of warehouse work meant that co-workers stuck pretty much together against management/work abuse. used to work hard, laugh things off, tell bad jokes and be a goofball. I'd have to listen to the occasional black strife experience here and there. but they usually came off it and talked about other things. I was pretty popular and we had a really good time overall.

As I settled in about two-three years. I got pretty depressed. Life wasn't improving. Supervisors would stay with you for 6months to a year. Some of them would push buttons or scream like fake drill sergeants. i developed some permanent health problems from the stress. But you find ways to deal with it. And you learn that you could usually tell em to fuck off and they did. I once got a nightmarish supervisor. We used to work together and they were cool. But once they became a supervisor. Their entire demeanor changed. It was like they became a monster. This person gave me so much stress. i almost killed myself one day. I was going to jump out of my window. cried til i turned red. i'm not really mentally or emotionally tough. i decided to take the day off from work to cool down. and when i came back the following week. my supervisor had gotten fired for getting into a fist fight with another supervisor. it must have been some type of intervention from god. the rest of my time there, all my supes looked out for me.

The final three years I was there. things were starting to shift a bit. There was a change in the air. It wasn't just Trump being elected, or maybe it was the growth of social media.. I really couldn't explain it. Couldn't have the usual bantz about anything anymore. 90% just had to listen to them bitch about crackers or how many roasties sucked their dicks. Even though I'm from 'the hood' I was a computer nerd, played games, only listened to white people talking. My connection to being hispanic was loose so I didn't have much flavor or 'streetness'. Whatever. I picked up some white habits. Didn't know their music or tv shows anymore. Couldn't get into Power or listen to hardcore drill rap. And I was getting a bit older and aware of racial tension. i didn't have crazy sexual escapades or anything going on with me. So i couldn't talk at their level anymore, they tried to talk to me about marvel/dc/tv. and i was losing interest in those things. so i likely became boring to them.


With the new co-workers funneling in things were beginning to shift a bit. I was becoming so comfortable with having an easy time at work. I wasn't pushing hard like I used to. i was leaving early. So my feats of strength/speed weren't saving the day anymore. I didn't have the reputation of being a hard worker anymore. my usual coworkers. they became more regressive toward me. sharing less. smiling less. i'd get into little verbal tufts with two or three co-workers i'd known for years. one of them would say every other time that i was racist whenever i made an observation or a comment a certain way. it was as if they were starting to fuck with me. also just noticed that co-workers were belittling and insulting each other a lot, i used to laugh at it. but then i realized that they were likely viscously demeaning me behind my back as well. so i'd stopped verbalizing gossipy things. even if they talked about me. I didn't want to get roped into any drama.

So one day I just had enough. They were calling people cracker this and that. Dude rides motorcycles he's a white supremecist. Really nice kid I worked with was white, they used to just belittle him. They would throw garbage at the one Asian man that worked there. I just didn't like the environment anymore. So I just saw an opportunity to quit. And I took it. I got onto a medical disability and milked it until it was over. Got into crypto and now I'm doing decently in crypto. Looking for opportunities that won't lead me into that work environment anymore. I have a broken spirit because of it. I'm much happier I don't have to deal with that shit anymore.

I worked as a waiter/bartender at PF Chang's for 6 years. One time I was running a large tray of food to a table of 5. As I was placing one of the entrees on the table, the serving spoon slipped off the plate and landed on a lady's iphone, cracking the screen. I said sorry and grabbed my manager to deal with the situation. The whole table was telling her how disrespectful I was and trying to get me fired for like 20 mins. My manager eventually told them to fuck off basically and covered the damages for the phone. I didn't receive any write ups or anything as it was just a freak accident. I've had many other traumatizing experiences but this one is the most memorable.

yeah i'm now a senior accountant at a megacorp. a certification is a good way to get into entry level roles like bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc. but you'll want to get a bachelors degree in accounting with 150 credits (CPA eligibility regardless of whether or not you actually want to take the CPA) if you want to advance into higher paying roles like corporate accounting, public accounting, etc.

I used to asbestos removal for a company. I definitely remember one job that was probably 18+ hours. Removing asbestos requires building a plastic containment fort around the removal area, putting on paper-suit over your clothes and respirator on your face to hopefully keep out the dust. I worked in fast food management for a decade. I never once saw anyone tamper with food or purposely do anything that could make someone sick.
