work out the pure gold content (in Swiss Franc's case, 5.81 grams) then multiply that by the Gold spot price.

5.8 * 47.84 = 277.42

Divide this number by the coin shop's retail price. So in the case of the Swiss Franc:

277.42 / 299 = 0.928

Subtract this number from 1 to get your premium

1 - 0.928 = 0.072 or 7.2%

Silver is still a better investment, but acquiring 35POUNDS of metal for $100 is under spot even at these prices and a great way to diversify your portfolio.
It is absolutely true, that copper will be used as a substitute in some applications of silver. So it does have plenty of room to grow. It feels ridiculous to be hoarding that much, but a long-long term hold it is a slam dunk.

Banks control the paper markets, and cash is completely in their control. They likely have agreements with people where they get industry their materials but they want to shake out investors. Remember, Vanguard and Blackrock are the largest investors and can even exert control behind the scenes. Also, international treaties likely control how much raw material can be purchased so China can't just take their $2TN and offer to buy silver at $200 an ounce and blow the fuck out of the shorts. All of this shit is managed behind the scenes, and people who stick their heads out get ruined such as the Hunt Brothers. Bill Gates was harassed like a mofo in the 1980-90s until he started playing ball. When it comes to these markets, there is nothing "free" or uncontrolled about it.

Of course it will. The demand for it is rising every year while the amount mined is lowering. The COMEX (((tricks))) will run their course in due time and the price will absolutely have to rise. Everything built upon a foundation of sand (or paper) crumbles eventually.

>> No.49326085

>>49325904
Silver will go up, but it is likely the very LAST thing to move as it is the lever that holds down gold and by extension all other commodities.
Every day that goes by, more and more people will be looking towards silver. However, most people are broke and can't even come up with $500 in a week's time. Their net worth is tied up mostly in their house, car, and 401k. Actual demand by the plebs will be a slow and steady source of demand. Millionaires buying out entire coin shops in one swoop will get shit rolling in no time. Billionaires are actively removing silver from the COMEX as well, and until that is done I doubt the price will rip anyway. They are more happy for the mines to keep providing them with cheapies as well while they load up. Another source of silver price increase will be industry needing to price out retail which will certainly happen at some point if retail demand begins vacuuming up every source of PMs they can get their hands on to protect themselves from inflation.

Whoever posted pic related in response to China's gold reserves in the previous thread needs to understand that China isn't exactly open with their information. It's agreed by nearly every expert that China has WAY more gold than they advertise. It's also suspected the US has way less gold than they claim they do, but I won't get into that. Anyone interested on the subject should do some reading on Chinese gold mining. China is the world's largest gold producer, and from the information available they are almost assuredly increasing production every year. Prior to the "pandemic" China was also notorious for the level of restrictions placed on exporting gold out of the country (if memory serves only exporting "pandas" was legal). Don't take the word of a retard like myself though, do your own research. Just bear in mind that any information coming out of China itself is information the CCP has allowed, and should be regarded with several pounds of salt. No one truly knows is the rule of law when researching China.

You can definitely tell there are some serious amateurs who invest in things hoping to get rich overnight.
The truth is, economic systems last on timeframes that span multiple generations. Silver WILL have it's payday, but we are talking about the entire system that EVERYONE alive today, poor, rich, jew, gentile are all bought into. It will come apart like a house that is deteriorating, not because it will be knocked down overnight. I don't think it will last this long because inflation is currently raging, but I wouldn't rule out a 5-10 year timeframe either. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

As a counter argument, there is also the chance the powers in charge of the US have taken heed of the writing on the wall and have actually been secretly increasing our gold reserves in anticipation of the non-western powers making their move. This would require our nation being run by people who are looking out for the long term interest of the nation however, and I think the odds of it are near zero. If you believe that our nation is run by kleptocrats only concerned with their own power and wealth in the short term, the odds are probably less than zero. Checked and I'm with you brother. I think this will be the decade in which the foreign powers make their move, and I think our rulers think the same and are working their hardest to obfuscate and distract while they sap whatever else they can. The sad part is that our wealthy elites, having access to information we don't, will hear about the eruption before we have the chance, and one day we'll wake up to find they've all flown to Israel or wherever. That same day we'll also find out that the US' position in the world has been irrevocably shattered. Our wealthy elites aren't retarded, and they'll almost assuredly make out like bandits. I don't anticipate many of them sticking around to try and maintain control once the shit gets real.

Just the opinion of a retard. I keep buying silver and gold.

Buy your bullion from reputable dealers and you will be fine.

take a breath, man. it's all good. look at the OP and go online and look up reputable dealers. no dealer would last long if they were known to sell fake shit.

I use ebay for single ounces of silver and dealers directly for gold and platinum.

if you're really spooked by it go to your local coin shop that's been around forever and buy from them.

I miss upstanding people like my Kaiser and the Führer like you wouldn't believe. Back when people would read massive amounts of text and actually had valuable discussion about it. Plebs wouldn't read it but also refrain from making their opinion known. You could opt out of this shit and leave it to people with time to spend. Nowadays thanks to (((american))) influence, all the retards come together on their clearnet platforms to strongly have an opinion into the void with no change whatsoever connected to it. Just like my comment right here. Will change nothing at all, maybe some fren will go "yea" which is validation enough for me in my tiny comfy bubble of PMs hoping for a fairer time for everyone.

No. I just shop around for the lowest prices. Can usually find at least one reputable place that is selling generic silver for less than $4 over spot/ounce and less than $50 over spot/ounce for gold. Granted, they are usually generics at those low prices. It’s very rare to see anything minted by a government or a prominent brand like pamp for those prices

I'd support a Niimi coin. A better obverse design would be swell, but she was best and cutest starter so I'd buy it regardless

I used to be like you and then I started abusing my gold. It’s very cathartic. Also, my gold bar had little black spots on it. Turns out it’s from metal contamination in the foundry. Little flecks of iron or copper or what have you get inside the stamps and are imbued into the surface of the ingot. Oxidization occurs and little brown or black flecks appear. Obviously gold doesn’t oxidized as it has full electron orbitals therefore no opportunity for covalent bonds at room temperature so these flecks can be alarming. Fear not! You’re unlikely to have gotten duped and, if you’re willing, you can do a volumetric/weight density analysis by plopping your gold into a little graduated cylinder of water and then weigh it on a scale. This should tell you if what you have is gold or not, assuming that’s what you’re worried about. If you’re worried about the spots I suggest you not sweat the small stuff. It’s probably wear and tear from the ingot rubbing against the inside of the packaging causing scuff marks more than likely.

Is this just cartoon crap, or is there some theme tie-in to PMs?

this just isn't true. gold is [Xe] 6s2 4f14 5d9 but borrows an s electron to fill 5d to 10 (stability = none>full>half>odd)
it still has an extra electron is 6s1 it wants to loose, though I think the metal alloy sea just kinda takes it in and makes it more conductive (hence why copper, silver, and gold, which all share this valency are the most conductive)

well, if they have no shortage of supply by acting this way, it sounds like their customers need to get smarter about selling, or they prey on desperate people. in this case it's because they can and they have no issue ripping off stupid people.
if they don't have anybody selling to them for those shit prices they'll have to raise their prices or close the store before too long.

the adverse should have the jannie dog but this is awesome
4chan is fascinating, we all started as 18-something do-no-goods with a love for sophisticated hedonistic trolls, this spirit never left us but we have entered harsh times and cope with it the only way we know how, which is satire.
The fact that we're building up connections to fucking real life heavy industry in order to print some meme money out of actual precious metals means we're the same trolls, a bit less destructive because that's the job of our governments - to fuck it all up - but all the more ready to try to subtly disrupt the narrative, and even eager to spend our hard earned bread some unlucky few of us aren't even oblidged to share with loved ones because those loved ones consist entirely of some strangers on the internet we share interests with.

I can definitely argue for Satanichia, you don't have to share the sentiment.
She's known on /g/ as the mascot for hating apple products a bit ironically - all tech is fine if it gets the fucking job done for most people, but as a fact loving 4chan anon you usually can't get over the fact that people pick the inferiour product simply out of vanity and status, let alone on a board of people giving zero fucks about vanity and status.

forgot to span the /biz/ connection:
for me she could be representative of shitting on crypto, which is due to all the arguments speaking FOR silver more or less inferiour money but has a lot of more buzz in the [current year] due to some nerds who made it in the casino. Crypto is inherently flawed with the same flaws digital money as in credit cards has - we in germany currently have the problem that you can't pay with card on many terminals because the retards distributing said terminals failed to roll out an update on the security certificates. Crypto money could just as well be locked away at any time due to someone exploiting some zero day in the blockchain code or any of the client applications, or just simply internet breakup due to wars, censorship, great firewalls etc.

Because enough people take their offer to make it worth lowballing. My own LCS offers 5% under spot for everything. Small fish like him aren't able to hedge or big enough to live off seller's premiums; they have to buy low & sell high like the rest of us. My guy makes good money offering more than the local pawn shops, and and I can't fault him for that.
