Why does Monero hold its price so firmly?

(When trading for BTC)

because it has an actual use and isn't just a pump and dump bubble

Isn’t this bad since BTC is crashing like WTC on 9/11?

How do we go independent from BTC?

Why is price so stable?

xmr's real mooning is still ahead

>> No.4931901

Im aware that its a top tier coin. Im just surprised that there are so many sellers during the BTC crash. Like this thing should spike even on the slightest BTC dip. Why no buys?

What is it valued at to you guys?

>> No.4931937

Monero has genuine utility and has been widely adopted by the blackmarket due to this utility, this created a certain level of stability even though it has risen quickly by comparison to non-crypto economics. As a result of both true utility and relative stability, Monero not only has consistent buyers and sellers, but is too boring for a large majority of the lamboland star-gazers around here looking for 500x gains overnight.

tl;dr: XMR is a boring but reliable longterm hold, much like a bluechip stock or an index fund.

The market is retarded. Just look at trash like IOTA mooning. Really doesn't inspire confidence in this market.

>> No.4932046

It is very possible that XMR is the currency used the most for exchanging against physical erm... goods...

Not BTC, not ETH, ZEC, whatever.

And this means UTILITY! Battle-tested, widely-adopted utility.

The better question is: Why isn't PIVX doing really well now that its privacy model is absolutely unrivaled post-zerocoin?

>> No.4932672

>>4932400
For the same reason BTC is making gains despite being inferior to many other coins with the same function, XMR serves that purpose already and is known and trusted by a large group of very paranoid (and rightly so) people. XMR is also accepted on most DNM's whereas I would wager most DNM users have never even heard of PIVX.

>> No.4932977

>>4932672
PIVX is actually inferior to XMR and is a shitcoin

>> No.4933092

What I like about Monero besides its smart technology is its branding. This is far the most likely option for the wide audience to jump into. Good investment.

well it went down 60$ aswell
which is like 20%

>> No.4933853

>>4932977
Agreed, but I'm arguing from their premise to avoid derailing the thread and turning it into an XMR v PIVX shitfight. Point still stands.
