I don't know but I'm not taking any chances. I didn't buy Link when it was under $1 and it's probably my biggest regret, also I didn't buy ETH under $1000.

Does anyone have any realistic price predictions for TrueBit? I think it can get back over $1 and re-touch ATH, but I'm unsure how much higher it can go. Any ideas?

I have only few trubies, less than 500. But I will autistically hold them probably for the long run. It honestly looks like an interesting concept, better than 99% of shitcoins floating around.

Actually, nevermind. I got to the important part and now I'm confused.
MC = Price * Supply
if you take an increment of this equation, it has two terms
Δ MC = ΔPrice * supply + Price * Δsupply
Yet the dude wrote it as
Δ MC =(Δ price)^2
which would then imply that you need an absurd increase in MC to have an increase in price

Is this 4D fud to try and accoom more while the price is low? Are there other opinions on this very same topic?

truebit will have a burn on every transaction, which will reduce the supply over time. everyone involved in a truebit transaction also has to stake, which locks up some supply. the implication (at least the way i read into how the system works) is that most participants in the truebit system will actually be performing all three jobs: verifying, solving, and giving tasks. this means that most people actually using the service will be both spending and receiving tru tokens at all times, so users will be bouncing tru back and forth and constantly reducing the supply. the only real wrench in this is the eth fee on every task, which literally just goes to the truebit team and seems weirdly rent-seeking. i believe they can reduce or remove this fee and i don't see how they can keep it and remain competitive

truebit is unique in its technical novelty and utter obscurity. there is no way to accurately judge where it will go and when. i'm still not convinced that the truebit token itself will be used, since the mechanism is the valuable thing and it can be forked on an application-specific basis if desired. IF truebit becomes the native off-chain computation oracle of ETH2.0 mainnet, and that's a big if with my level of information, I don't know exactly what it would process, because of the high expense - rollup commits and challenges? Arbitrum already has a wasm prover, is this secretly truebit? I doubt it. Truebit is getting used on Quadrans, will that have anything to do with the ETH-native version of Truebit or will they be separate? All I can say is that, should the ETH-deployed system ever actually see consistent high volume usage, tru will absolutely hit its previous ath and will gradually grind upward from there. it is a unique utility token not entirely unlike chainlink, that is designed to appreciate based on demand for the system that uses it

>truebit is unique in its technical novelty and utter obscurity.

this is why I won't sell anytime soon. Whatever happens, it's unlikely that it goes much lower than it is now. It just seems like a low risk but potentially high reward investment. I'm thinking we're all gonna make it, I've never felt so secure in any investment ever

>> No.49289627

well, I can't say that I feel comfortable with it, but there is something unusual about it. every time i've tried to sell all my tru and walk away i always come back. my bag is the smallest it's ever been, but I can't see myself zeroing it out anymore, i've spent too much time thinking about this protocol and i know it's being actively developed, even if it's obscured to us, I want at least a little exposure. if my other stuff moons first i may build my position back up. the big thing for me would be confirmation of the TRU token's use and not just the use of a "truebit-like mechanism" in a different project, as exciting as that is for the future of computation, it's not possible for me to invest in that financially if I can't buy any token involved in the use of that mechanism

I do believe Truebit or something like it is inevitable. The same with Chainlink - projects that solve problems others aren't even thinking about. First mover advantage will be huge.
I looked into Golem to see how it compares, not even close. GLM you run whatever executable they provide, offer your answer which can be accepted, I didn't see a solution to the bad-work-gets-submitted problem, which TRU has an elegant one.

Obviously I would be ecstatic, but I can't get that greedy. Right now my most optimistic predictions are that it goes on a run like LINK. Next major resistance is really the $1.20 range where it mega dumped last year. Remember during the first runup last May, it went to $1.20 and then someone removed all their TrueBit from the uni pool, which was like 80% of the pool, and then they market dumped it, which sent the price from $1.20 to 20 cents within a few minutes.

I think if you want to be safe, buy now. Don't FOMO in at $1 and then get mad if it dumps again, which it easily could.

1000 USD is just so crazy...I won't allow myself to think like that. ETH is only about $2000 right now. Personally I would be beyond ecstatic if it went on a run like LINK and went between $20 and $50 but I don't know how likely that is. It all depends on how much it breaks above the $1.20 mark imo. If it can get that high or higher without immediately crashing and dumping, I think we could see great things

I don't know, I'm not sure. I think the guy has a point tho, regardless if the correct calculation is price increase ~ sqrt(MC increase), which I think is not entirely correct.
There certainly is a price "ceiling" given by the OS minting mechanism, and arbitrage bots working between that and the market. However, a point which I still don't understand, is how this OS price can be modified. In terms of USD, it is directly modified by the ETH/USD pair. But in terms of ETH, like can the liquidity of the minting contract be modified? I guess if a lot of people utilized the system to do calculations, the price would go up (As each calculation involves a burning of TRU).
Anyway, yeah, this is certainly a long term hold. And these prices do look like the bottom in a sense.
Say, ETH at 10k, TRU being used and we could see dunno $10-50 a TRU as >>49294356 pointed out.
