truebit is unique in its technical novelty and utter obscurity. there is no way to accurately judge where it will go and when. i'm still not convinced that the truebit token itself will be used, since the mechanism is the valuable thing and it can be forked on an application-specific basis if desired. IF truebit becomes the native off-chain computation oracle of ETH2.0 mainnet, and that's a big if with my level of information, I don't know exactly what it would process, because of the high expense - rollup commits and challenges? Arbitrum already has a wasm prover, is this secretly truebit? I doubt it. Truebit is getting used on Quadrans, will that have anything to do with the ETH-native version of Truebit or will they be separate? All I can say is that, should the ETH-deployed system ever actually see consistent high volume usage, tru will absolutely hit its previous ath and will gradually grind upward from there. it is a unique utility token not entirely unlike chainlink, that is designed to appreciate based on demand for the system that uses it

I do believe Truebit or something like it is inevitable. The same with Chainlink - projects that solve problems others aren't even thinking about. First mover advantage will be huge.
I looked into Golem to see how it compares, not even close. GLM you run whatever executable they provide, offer your answer which can be accepted, I didn't see a solution to the bad-work-gets-submitted problem, which TRU has an elegant one.

Obviously I would be ecstatic, but I can't get that greedy. Right now my most optimistic predictions are that it goes on a run like LINK. Next major resistance is really the $1.20 range where it mega dumped last year. Remember during the first runup last May, it went to $1.20 and then someone removed all their TrueBit from the uni pool, which was like 80% of the pool, and then they market dumped it, which sent the price from $1.20 to 20 cents within a few minutes.

I think if you want to be safe, buy now. Don't FOMO in at $1 and then get mad if it dumps again, which it easily could.

1000 USD is just so crazy...I won't allow myself to think like that. ETH is only about $2000 right now. Personally I would be beyond ecstatic if it went on a run like LINK and went between $20 and $50 but I don't know how likely that is. It all depends on how much it breaks above the $1.20 mark imo. If it can get that high or higher without immediately crashing and dumping, I think we could see great things

There certainly is a price "ceiling" given by the OS minting mechanism, and arbitrage bots working between that and the market. However, a point which I still don't understand, is how this OS price can be modified. In terms of USD, it is directly modified by the ETH/USD pair. But in terms of ETH, like can the liquidity of the minting contract be modified? I guess if a lot of people utilized the system to do calculations, the price would go up (As each calculation involves a burning of TRU).
Anyway, yeah, this is certainly a long term hold. And these prices do look like the bottom in a sense.

During the swap it shows up when I search it and displays as "TRU_TRUEBIT" and the link points to the correct etherscan contract.

I haven't gone through with the swap yet because the gas fees are like $60
