i can! but in this case i really dont know if they would work properly in this material. Tertiary Channel and similar material like desert calichi simply absorbs the blast and doesnt shatter, the best bet for this is simple manual labor until i get mad at it and mark it as a test hole for excavator work later this year. I ll put a ripper tool on the stick and just bust through as much as i can if I think its worth it. Tomorrow i ll try and get down another meter or so, 3m by hand is deep enough where it starts becoming a shaft and needs cribbing / supports.

Just look up the production of any of the Giant oil fields.

For example: Cantarell in Mexico peaked in 2003 /2004 where it was producing 2.1 million barrels of oil a day.

You know how many it produces today?

159,000 barrels of oil a day.

Peak oil is real. Only the ignorant like to quote it and think that we are completely running out of oil. The fact is we have produced and consumed the easy to get oil that is cheap. Now we are on the down side of peak where oil is going to get increasingly more difficult to extract and produce which will make it much more difficult to consume also.

This is a major issue that no one in economics or government wants to discuss with the population because the implication is that industrial civilization is coming to an end soon. Currently, the elites are also largely delusion in thinking that wind and solar is somehow going to power an industrial civilization.....instead you will end up with rolling blackouts and permanent loss of electricity in certain areas where there is no wind and little sunlight.

Steve is essentially correct in that we do face an energy cliff.

Not really. There is no one really in control except for fleeting control by the Central Banks that will come to an end also. That is what a lot of the "conspiracy theorists" don't realize.

The Giant Oil Fields are all played out and this is why there is such a rush into shale oils, tar sands, offshore oils, etc.

We haven't discovered a giant oil field in many years.

Much of the reserve numbers that are claimed and completely inflated and outright fabrications. This was even admitted by the former VP of Aramco who even stated many of the so-called reserves are not accessible or available for production.

Most don't realize that conventional oils peaked in 2005 and then we had the financial crisis from 07-09 where the central banks lowered rates to zero. This allowed for shale oils, tar sands, and other low quality oils to be brought online because they are uneconomical at higher interest rates and they do not make money. Something like 200 shale oil companies have gone bankrupt since then. Furthermore, oil from shale accounted for something like 73% of all oil production since the 08 financial crisis.

As things wind down for industrial civilization you will see a mass bankruptcy and that includes the central banks that will not function at the scale they previously functioned at.

There really is no-one in control of this process as it moves forward. You won't be able to stop the people from trying to consume as much oil as they possibly can because the entire food supply throughout the world is dependent on oil and its derivatives. Wtihout oil you can expect to lose at least 50% of the world population....some say 30-40% but I think it is likely higher than that.

If you want to see how dependent the population is on oil just chart the world population growth beside oil production growth and you will see a strong correlation.

Shale is subject to red queen syndrome due to its decline/depletion rates.

You have to continually bring on new wells in order to make up for the large depletion rates of previous wells that are being produced. It creates a never ending effect of trying to replace wells that are depleting very quickly. In doing so, you are not really building production instead you are trying to maintain what you have. It is not as abundant as it is made out to be because of this effect.

Relatively cheap? Not at all.....shale only exists at zero or near zero interest rates and even then hardly any companies make a profit. There have been hundreds of shale companies that have been bankrupted.

Shale is a last gambit of a dying and depleting system. The technology for shales has been around for a long time.

You should ask yourself.....why wasn't shale brought online and used largely prior to 2005? Same thing for tar sands, offshore oils, etc. Most of these are known to be low quality sources that are difficult to extract from and ecologically damaging. Could it be because we have used up the easy to get stuff from the giant oil fields we relied on for a long time?
Do you know they have to water flood the fields in Saudi? Something like 7 million gallons of water a day just to get more oil out of there.
I wouldn't expect this system to hold up much longer.

Both statements are largely true. We may see it before the end of the century, or at least some demonstration/test missions. But it will take years for the rock to get close to our orbit, and will almost never be brought down, manufacturing in space will use it.

The Peak Oil people have been saying this for twenty years and nada. Their mistake is in not understanding how markets work. Markets are at their very best in allocating resources. The day will never come when suddenly all the wells run dry. What will happen is that the cost to extract will slowly increase. As it does, new methods will be developed (like fracking). Then those will become more expensive. At some point the price of oil, gas, and coal will get high enough that other energy options will become economical. The combination of higher fossil fuel costs and concern over carbon emissions will eventually silence the anti-nuke crowd and the world will go full-nuclear. Uranium and thorium, used to its full capacity, will power the world at current levels of consumption for a thousand years. So I'm not going to worry about it.

Biden's first move in office was scrapping Keystone XL. As much as I hate our government and loathe to say what I'm about to say, they understand the global and future position of our nation better than we do, simply because they have access to information they go to great lengths to hide from us. I think our oil production is purposefully being stalled by our government to maintain the US's oil reserves. Why wouldn't we when our government can just trade fiat for other countries' oil reserves while it still can? The only downside is some pain to the average American's wallet, but as long as they perform the balancing act well they can maintain our reserves without causing too much dissent from the populace. It may play out well for us in the long term, especially if we eventually overthrow these cretins.

I've had the AoC debate with people before and never managed to change anyone's mind on the subject, but I'll say that I believe the AoC was fundamentally flawed and those flaws would have become exacerbated with the rise of nation-states across the globe. There were certainly violations of the Constitution before the Civil War of course, but federalism was still the law of the land prior to the war's conclusion, so states could basically disregard the federal government if it stepped out of bounds. Little known fact is the Bill of Rights only applied to the federal government prior to the conclusion of the Civil War, that is how strongly federalism was rooted in our society. The biggest issue with mining gold is the insane amount of dirt you need to move for tiny amounts of gold. If the main belt theory is correct and it was made as the result of a molten proto planet ripping apart then it stands to reason there should be veins of quite pure metals separated from the nickel iron mass by various centripetal and other forces during the event. The questions are, can you make mass to orbit cheap and are there rich veins of platinum group metals to be found in M-type asteroids on good orbits that require a minimal amount of delta v to inject your metal rich slugs onto an earth orbit intercept. Cost to orbit is coming down dramatically and I expect spacex will succeed with starship which will drop costs to the floor. What is really needed is a comprehensive analysis of all M type asteroids on low Dv orbits compared to earth to determine what kind of resources there are to exploit. For my money the answer is yes, but it will require time and capital to get to that point.

personally as a collectors item and as a barter the goldack is very nice, but it has been stated multiple times by the company itself as well as those who advocate for the use of goldback to never stack goldback as that is not their purpose
If you purchase to collect, cool, if you purchase to use in personal transactions, great, but stacking goldbacks is not it's intended purpose and I would advise against it
standard coin or bars with lower premiums are meant for stacking, and any fractional gold is not a good way to stack if that is your intention or goal
