How in the hell do I buy Ripple? Cex.io announced yesterday that they now support it, but having done some Googling it seems ultra-shady. Tried signing up for Kraken, but their web app is trash and won't let me verify.

I'm happy to speculate but don't want to send my financial deets somewhere untrustworthy.

Bitstamp or Bittrex, or something else? Which, and why?

I should note that I'm in the U.S.

Not interested in day-trading cryptos, just want to add USD for a year or two, then pull USD out with my low cap gains tax.

Looks fine but they don't do XRP

Bitstamp looks like the only option, but holy cow that identity verification process.

Dude... buy LTC on normiebase and transfer it to the other exchange of your liking. Fuck BTC it takes too long amd the fee is stupid big. Convert to BTC or ETH on the exchange you sent it to and buy XRP. Your percentage loss will be less than using BTC to transact. adds a couple more steps but worth it.

Try Gatehub

Step 1: Get basically any crypto
Step 2: Exchange on shapeshift
Done

>> No.4915162

>>4914592
The whole reason for me not wanting to do that is the short-term capital gains tax (both the paperwork involved and the haircut). I'm only dealing in small amounts, so I'd rather keep it to fiat-in fiat-out.

Unless I'm misreading something about converting cryptos to other cryptos triggering a taxable event?

Shapeshift or changelly it if you are a total noob
