so i want to invest a couple of hundred to play around with crypto currencies for fun, is that even worth it? everyone is saying coinbase is shit? if so what else can i use to buy coins, binance? it's all so confusing, please help a stupid anon, everyone seems to use something different.

Buy coins on Coinbase, transfer them to Bittrex. Trade shitcoins.

You might want to buy Litecoin as the tx fees will be cheaper when you move your coins.

If you only want to play around on an exchange with <$1000 it doesn't make much sense to hold coins in a desktop wallet. If it's chump change might as well keep it on the exchange.

Get a hardware wallet when you have a bigger stack and want to long term hold some coins in a secure place.
