4880410 No.4880410 [Reply] [Original]

Let's say I have some inside information... that Salt is launching its platform today, just before weekend to give people time to find a lender, discuss contract terms and receive the money by the beginning of the next week, ready for Xmas.

Salt is valued $25 in its platform and only $7 on exchanges, That's an easy x3... but it can be more because retail price will be, in staff word's, always higher than market price.

Nice profit guys!

Possible pump in the works to start the gains on this. Obviously it's going to go up eventually, but we're trying to speed up the process.

Such a bad shill thread, OP.
Buy the rumor sell the news.

If the platform is, as you say, launching today, then that means it's time to sell.

People can use their existing crypto as collateral to take out cash loans. To become a member on the platform, you need a SALT token.

Let's say for simplicity sake that 1 bitcoin is worth $10,000, I can put that up for collateral, and take a $8000 cash loan (your loan amount is 80% of your collateral on the SALT platform)

You can then use that money to do whatever you want. Re-invest, buy booze - the SALT platform doesn't care. Then you pay off interest on the loan (you can use SALT tokens to do this also). To protect lenders, the asset will be automatically liquidated in case of a huge price crash.

>> No.4880582

>>4880545

Completly wrong

At the moment exchanges/whales can lend over 1mn for just 700$, thats nothing.

Platform Launch means also that they can start to take lends.

You can decrease lend interests with SALT.

Do you really think buy rumor sell news works here? Escpecially when Ethereum is crippling duo to autistic cryptokitties?

Demand will be so fucking high you cant even imagine.

Thanks mate, I was seriously confused. And just to. Make sure, if I don't pay the loan back, they just take whatever I put up as collateral as a whole, right?

>> No.4880736

>>4880666
Yeah, your collateral is basically locked up in a smart contract (or some other similar mechanism) and you can't have access to your collateral until you pay off the loan. Should the market swing around wildly, the person who loaned you cash can liquidate it (and I believe the liquidation is automatic if it drops by a pre-set amount).

Buy the rumors, sell the news works for useless coins, when the platform launches this will be one of the few tokens with real, defined use, and valued not by specullation but by actual lending costs.

>> No.4880800

oh and by the way in case you missed it...

Palm Beach signaled a buy up to $7 on SALT, so you can bet on it being AT LEAST in the $7 range forever, no matter what happens. This means smash that buy button at any price less than $7.

>> No.4880807

I imagine future traders are buying up bitcoin now to short quickly, and the salt lenders will make their lending platform live before futures happen, so when people lend against bitcoin, they will be forced to pay the mark up on the loans, giving salt extra cheap bitcoin.

>> No.4880845

They can launch the platform before futures, you need time to discuss terms and also can make the contract effective after certain date...

This is the one that makes me doubt this will work. If cryptos stay as volatile as they are, would you really give them to a bank as collateral, where you cant touch them, cant use them to invest and in general just have to hope that the price wont drop in the multiple years long timeframe that you will pay back your loan in?

I think the solution would be that the coins actually belong to the bank in that period, and that the bank is free to invest them however they see fit, reap all the profits or take all the losses that they make, and in the end give back an amount of the same crypto that is equal in USD to what the loan taker originally gave them.
However since that is not part of their plan as of now I probably wont invest in this.

>> No.4881642

>>4881227

if you think btc will rise again, then pay off the loan and get it back.

if you dont pay it back... not a big deal, as the lender will stay comfy and liquidate your btc.

also i think if you consistently pay back your loans, you get a sort of "internal credit score" which will determine your credit line when SALT releases their crypto-backed Credit Cards
