I -really- don't want to work /biz/, it fucking sucks.

How does someone who have no work-ethic survive in today's world? Why couldn't I entice someone who is rich to give me money for that I can live on?

I've had a pretty tragic life so, I think I'm entitled to live a relaxed adulthood.

I would love for your parents to drive you out into the woods and leave you there for 2 weeks with nothing but the clothes on your back. After that you might smarten up.

Unless you're a 10/10 girl or a 10/10 gay guy, you're out of luck.

Gotta have money to not work and get by.

Say you have 24,000 invested at 5%. This is 1,200 interest per year, or 100 dollars per month for checking a statement every month.

Thus, 240,000 is 1000/month income, which is probably enough for you to live on if you're frugal and live in a decent cost of living area...

So, the key is to get 250k-500k and living off its passive income. So, bust ass, save up as much as you can, and you'll have your dream in 10 or 20....

Because then you'd need to find a wealthy woman who is willing to keep you as a pet. That's much more difficult.

No one's entitled to anything. You get what you're willing to put the work in for. Quit being a bitch, it won't help you at all

There you go, OP. You now have a big goal to work toward. Go forth, kick some ass, and return to this board triumphant, when you no longer have to work.

Triumphant, I say...

I'm not attacking the virtue of hard work, just that it's not how the world work.

Unless your passion is philosophy or fine arts, why not pursue it as a career option? That way you won't necessarily have to do "work" more so than a hobby.

If you want to follow that plan, you would put that 250-500k into stocks/bonds and take about 4% (not 5%) from it.

Who said anything about banks? It wouldn't be hard to get 5% ROI from, say a real estate investment, S&P Index funds or decently high yielding corporate bonds... Sure, this isn't FDIC insured, but I'll take a little risk to get out of <1% bank returns anyway (Not including my emergency fund, of course).

>I've had a pretty tragic life
this is the root of the problem, it is psychological

get an electrician's license or something that pays more than minimum wage, then live beneath your means, live in a trailer and enjoy the simple things in life, a stress free existence, you will have money and independence, although you won't be able to afford a McMansion or the latest iphone, those things don't really matter anyway
