They're pushing IOTA hard to a lot of industrial businesses like Bosch and Siemens. Industry is nuts for IoT and Industry 4.0 right now, so any system that benefits these things is a welcome addition to their tech-park. This is why IOTA might be quite successful in the long run.
However, I agree that this is basically useless for human interaction as the token is specifically designed to be used by machines. This is why their wallet system is so cumbersome to use.
