You are better off putting the 5k in ether.

No, not really.
Isn't there anything silent around?
I could build my own PC but I don't know what shout I buy really.

I have them already but I'm wondering whether this could be a good idea in a few months span.
I can spend less than 5k.

I can build the custom PC.
Would it be feasible to to silence the cards with a water cooling system?
I'd like to know also where to calculate the expected profits.

No it isn't. My gtx 1070 can do about a dollar of ether a day. Even if you had 5 it is only 5 a day. Not counting electricity and the rest of the computer, it just isn't enough money.

I'm being logical. If you are banking on price appreciation then instead of spending 5k for a rig that needs repairs and electricity you are better off putting the 5k in your crypto. How long to mine 5k worth? How long before the difficulty increases? How much more from buying now vs mining for years?

Sure, it's harder to find out, but you don't own the place, if the CEO or whatever found out, would he keep you? Is your job worth a bit of shitcash a day?
