Golem rode the altcoin hype hard, I think it came out when all the other 'really big idea' etc20 coins like augur came out and people were falling head over heels over it all because of how well ETH was doing. All of Golem's market cap came from that big hype pump before and it basically hasnt done shit since then.

Technical team is top notch and the idea is great, marketing is inept and almost comical, still it will most probably be part of these 5% of blockchain projects that will valued in billions after the great purge in 2-3 years if they manage to deliver the V2 but on the short term I don't know.
