If you were gonna stealth install miners on uni computers, how would you do it, and how would you set them up so they all pool?

>> No.4687580

Heavily depends on whether you have admin permissions, and how system changes are logged.

CPU mine monero. Enjoy your free secret money

Interesting idea, Is there a limit to it ?
what keeps me from doing this with every computer I can find and not be linked to it ?

If I were your unis IT guy I'd let you mine a fuck ton of bitcoin then uninstall everything and not tell anyone so I'd walk into work in the morning and be like 'oh hey, why you always in the computer room?' and you'd stutter out 'J-just doing WORK DOING MY U-UNI WORK SIR' and I'd put my feet up sip my coffee and wait about 5 minutes until you realise that all your bitcoin is gone and listen to a mixture of screeching and the mashing of keys as you post about what happened on /biz/

it is not easy

you need somehow to point your miners to mining pool and pool owner will ban you when they suspect you are using infected machines

you need to run pool by yourself but authorities will easily track you

>> No.4688791

What kind of jail time would you face being caught doing this?

Asking for a friend

Good luck getting through whitelisting

>> No.4689106

Most university pcs do a complete reinstall of the OS every 24 hours, so it wouldnt work

>> No.4689193

>>4689106
Lol, no they don't. They install a tool on every machine that wipes all changes not part of the base image between login/out or reboot.

>> No.4689295

>>4688791

None but you could be kicked out of UNI.

>>4687508

Even if you have admin permissions to run the miner any uni admin worth their salt would have such traffic blocked. It's not really doable unless you happen to work as a uni system admin.
