It's confusing to measure in sats, just look at Ripple's chart, you'd think you were hemorrhaging money.

Maybe I should be holding BTC, but frankly I don't want to hold something that has no fundamentals backing it. I don't want to wake up to 30% losses because the market finally realized it was being retarded.

Well, SWIFT operates with somewhat like $1qdrl a year.
If we treat CL node operators as transaction managers (which they are not) that get 0.1% of each transaction, then we get $1trln to equivalent paid to node operators.

And I have no idea how much a LINK would cost if it let you get a chunk of that sum.

If it takes over 6 months or the team will not give any info for months, then it's looking like a long and bearish hold.

President and CEO of the Royal Bank of Canada:

“Blockchain could have an important role
to play and could be the technology that
transforms money moving and money storing.
We are realistic that the technology is still in
its infancy, but are excited by its potential,”
he said. “The opportunity to decentralise our
record-keeping and remove third parties could
significantly reduce friction, lower cost and
increase the cadence at which we operate.”
RBC is exploring the technology’s
potential via a number of initiatives spanning
its personal, commercial and capital markets
businesses. A blockchain-based shadow
ledger for cross-border payments between
the US and Canada launched recently, and the co-launch of a pilot programme with
JP Morgan and ANZ Banking Group, which
deploys blockchain for global payments.
“We are watching the performance
of all our blockchain pilots very carefully
and are aware of the need to clarify legal,
regulatory and security questions, including
around the enforceability and d reversibility of
transactions,” McKay said.

Tom Casteleyn, head of product
management for custody, cash and FX at BNY
Mellon:

Post-blockchain, I see the role of the global
custodian as linking blockchains together
and making sure there is interoperability
between them.”

I haven't completely examined this doc, but there doesn't seem to be anything in there outside of some positive references to 20022 and pilot projects.
Going to keep perusing.

Anyway, this document was published on 2 November it seems, so it's hardly news.

Meanwhile here's a more recent publication from 15 November by SWIFT itself (not Sibos), directly referencing the Chainlink proof of concept:
https://www.swift.com/file/45401/download?token=1SlvZHKA
(direct PDF download)

See pic.
Swift considers ISO 20022 the future of global (financial) networks, and lists the Chainlink PoC as one of the key examples of ISO 20022 implementation. Right alongside other major projects like Swift's flagship GPI project.

Maybe Rory meant to post this link?

These quotes are from >>4650266 btw.

They've clearly been piloting LINK. How far they are down the road is another question.

you're an idiot, they'd never directly mention the names of companies they're working with in a report like this. if you actually did your research you'd come to the conclusion that it's almost certain they're talking about the chainlink project.
but that's the thing, your research reaches as far as checking out twitter pages and watching "crypto experts" on youtube.

>If it takes over 6 months
Thing is, I don't care if it's 6 months or 3 years. If you look at something like Eth, I'm sure people were saying it was dumb to hold it in 2013.

I get what you're saying, but I have a few thousand I can just leave and don't need to trade with right now, so might just put it in.

>>4648866
>$1qdrl a year.
Alright fuck I'm putting it in. I just read their newsletter from the SIBOS conference and they are really keen on using blockchain technology. Dam, this might legit be our chance.

Holy fuck you are stupid.

>>4650887
I think what he meant by it was saying that they are very bullish on blockchain technology. We already know SWIFT is working with LINK, so I see zero reason why they wouldn't actually use them.

Yeah fuck me I'm putting $10k into this. This is gigantic.

One thing from this publication that seems very relevant to Link is this:

"The European Union’s second
Payments Services Directive (PSD2) and
the UK’s Open Banking Initiative, due to
come into effect from 2018, both mandate
use of standardised open APIs to facilitate
access to bank customers’ transaction and
account data."

This is actually pretty amazing, Chainlink basically runs on open APIs.
