Bitcoin legacy is a fork. It's just pumped to shit by hordes of halfwits, scammy bitfinex tether antics, and those who know it's useless but see the value in riding the wave of the former.

When the dumb money swamps the total monetary base, the value of the ledger will necessarily decrease as people use it for more and more idiotic purposes, diluting its worth relative to other actually functional currencies held by actually intelligent people not diluted by aforementioned human waste.
