Is it worth it to start investing in the markets even if you can only start with a $100?

>> No.455010

The effort you'd be putting in to diversify your stock to the point of profit (which is never a guarantee) off of $100 would in my opinion, not be worth it.

Invest in yourself.

What if you buy some stock and sell when there is profit. Then buy another stock then repeat?

Definitely no

No. Unless you have 6 months of living expenses stashed away in an emergency fund you have no right investing.

Like I said, there is no guarantee that stocks will turn a profit over time. Also, the return would be so miniscule that you'd be forced into buying penny stocks to stay in the game. In the very unlikely possibility you were able to double your investment after four quarters and re-invest, the likelihood you would strike gold twice and make a second record profit is also extremely low. Investing in the market takes patience, intelligent calculation, and a considerable initial investment.

At such a low starting point, you would have a better shot if you went to the casino and put it all on red.

>> No.455050

Sure it is. Think of all the things you can do with that extra $20 in 2 years.

It's fine if you plan on adding money consistently over time.
Get an emergency fund first though.

due to fees you would need 10% returns just to break even, since this is your first $100 that means you're a beginner and there is a low chance of making those returns

$500 bare minimum
$2000 suggested

2k suggested? is this a joke? A good year for an investor is 15% return. 15% of 2k = 300
HOLY SHITT WE're in business now baby"!!! use your 2k for soemthing fun theres no point in investing if oyu dont have 10k + atleast.

Shitcoins are your only option with $100. /biz/ hates them but give it a shot, I started with $20 and now have $2k.

these posters are right.

Let's say you use scottrade. $7 commission. $7 to buy, $7 to sell.

Right off the bat, you need your ONE stock you buy (the least commission possible) to increase 14% just to BREAK EVEN.

See how dumb this is?

>> No.455226

If you've got that little to start with, just find a mutual fund with no minimum contribution.

This. It's just not worth it otherwise.

Theres a point of investing if he finds it enjoyable and or challenging, wants to learn for the future. Everyone needs to start somewhere and the best of us lose money sometimes, better to do it while you only have a small amount. Now it is stupid to invest and expect a lot of return with that money.

maybe if you spend it all on pandacoin
