Considering Monero and Ducknote for a long-term hold just for shits and giggles. Same with RipoffCoin. Not sure what to think about VIA/SYS taking a shit. At this point I can see the new trend becoming IPO coins that are completely abandoned after the IPO, so spend your bitcoin wisely.

CANN is still promising also, and watch for BitCash to pop up on Bittrex soon, too.

Watch out for some VIA/XCH conversion campaign that's going on right now. LTC is a decent buy at this point, and definitely pick up some XMR/XDN/BBR before the CN coins get really popular. Blame the bitcoin dip. Every time it goes down the nocoiners scream that bitcoin is over.

Generally, its still extremely early to get into cryptonote coins. BBR and XMR are equally comparable, just a shame the former isn't nearly as popular as the latter. XDN also serves a purpose as the 1-sato joke coin of cryptonote.

I wouldn't put money into BCN. Too many coins in too few hands, which are mostly the dev team. Litecoin serves no purpose anymore, despite being married to the bitcoin team, so I have a hard time justifying putting any money into it.

And by now if it isn't XMR/XDN/BBR its just another dumpcoin. Speculators will realize and hopefully all the altcoin trash will be on the way out by next year.

All you need to know about cryptocurrencies:

If any of them will grow significantly in popularity over the next few years it will be Bitcoin.

The chance of Bitcoin significantly growing in popularity over the next few years I put at around 10%. There is a very limited use case for consumers and trying to keep them totally securely is a fucking nightmare that the average person will never be able to do in a quick, convenient and idiot proof way.

All other cryptocurrencies are nothing more than pump and dump clones that will all vanish to nothing in the long run. If you buy any of them, it's as good as putting money on a roulette wheel in the short run, and flushing your money down the toilet in the long run.

Eh, I dont know about that. You're probably right, but recently there's been a lot of new ones that have a lot of really interesting and useful features that bitcoin lacks. But then again, that's not really enough to cause a major shift in the crypto world. For one thing, you've got to go through bitcoin if you want to buy any of these, and there's the fact that basically nobody gives a single howling monkey shit about what features your coin has.

True long term:btc. All others are always disposable if necessary and you should think similarly. That said, if they manage to pull it off then BTCD could be top dog. haven't bought in yet though, hoping for a dip. The concept is that they will be able to clean btc within their own coin ecosystem which would make all other anon coins irrelevant because people won't have to switch coins to be totally anonymous. btc users would pay a fee to use this service and btcd holders would get dividends from these operations. Of course this depend on them delivering but if they do then they completely remove the reason for all other anon coins to exist. So it would be reasonable to estimate that it could absorb all anon coin market share IF AND ONLY IF they deliver.
